"Look, look, Phoebe, who am I?" Joni tried her hardest to keep her usual stone faced expression as she turns to face her best friend, who is combing through her hair beside her in the girl's bath house.

Phoebe glanced over and immediately doubles over in laughter. Joni turned to look herself in the mirror, finally cracking a smile herself. She had combed her short blonde hair back until it was slick against her head, looking strikingly similar to their fellow Slytherin schoolmate.

"Jesus, you guys could be twins. I don't know if I'm impressed or terrified," Phoebe continued to laugh as she tugged her comb through her long brown hair.

Though Joni felt fulfillment from causing Phoebe to laugh, she couldn't help but to feel a little guilty as well. Draco Malfoy was her friend, no matter how much Phoebe hated him. Joni's family and the Malfoys history goes back farther than Joni has ever tried to understand. Many of the Slytherin families do.

Joni wasn't all that familiar with her family though, which is the argument that Phoebe often made. Her mother never gave her explanation, but for some reason, they aren't in contact with Joni's grandparents, nor her father's family at all. Her father had died before Joni could even place him in her memory. All she has are a few photos tucked away from her mum's view.

The mystery of her family had always bugged her, but it's nothing she could ever really tell anyone. So she just had to deal with Phoebe's constant bitter remarks about her other friends, and Draco and her other friends jokes about Phoebe's social justice heart of hers. She just tried to keep the peace as best as she could.

"I guess I found my halloween costume," Joni joked as she tangled her fingers in her hair, letting them spring back into their natural tight curls.

Joni had a rather androgynous look about her; short curly blonde hair that nearly blended in with her pale complexion. She wore minimal makeup, doing nothing to make her blue eyes 'pop' or anything like that. Growing up, she had often gotten teased, people thought it was funny to call her a boy, addressing her as "Joe" instead. But she had developed a thick skin and became friends with a group of people who were too terrifying to mess with. Being friends with Draco and the others had their perks.

The two girls exit the bath house, heading back into their dorm rooms in their matching green bathrobes. Phoebe begins rubbing some sort of elixir in her hair that she claimed would leave it irresistible. Joni rolls her eyes as she's sure it's some stupid product that someone suckered Phoebe into buying.

The other girls in the dorm were all chattering excitedly when the Joni and Phoebe entered. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary to Joni, these girls were always gossiping about something. And majority of the time, Joni had absolutely no interest in it. But Phoebe on the other hand loved the gossip, as much as she tried to deny it.

"No way!" Phoebe gasped, covering her mouth with her hands dramatically. Joni shot her a confused look over her shoulder as she set out her uniform for the day.

It didn't take long for Phoebe to be rushing over to Joni's bed, grabbing her before she could drop her robe.

"There's a secret party on Friday," Phoebe hissed, her eyes wide.

Joni rolled her eyes and shrugged out of Phoebe's grasp. She begins dressing, much to Phoebe's disappointment, who clearly didn't receive the reaction she wanted.

"I'm sure it's going to be so lame," Joni rolled her eyes as she slips her sweater over her head.

"See, that's where you're wrong," Phoebe smirked, sitting down on Joni's bed, on top of the rest of her clothes for the day. Joni sighed and planted her hands on her hips, knowing she can't do anything else until she indulges her friend.

She stared at Phoebe expectingly, waiting for her to give her the 'juicy' details.

"It's going to be at the Shrieking Shack," She said even quieter this time, and for once, Joni's interest in mindless chatter is caught.

"Really?" She asked, taking a seat beside Phoebe on her bed.

That place was one of the creepiest place at school. She found it hard to believe that anyone would be daring enough to throw a party there. This seemed more her style.

"And rumor has it that it will be fully stocked with firewhiskey," Phoebe smirked, wearing mischievous eyes that caused Joni to let out a small laugh.

"But everyone!" Pansy Parkinson hissed at the room full of chatter, "This party is top secret, so don't tell anyone else. We wouldn't want any unwanted guests there," She wore a threatening look on her face. Joni saw her glance at Phoebe for a few seconds, but she hoped that Phoebe didn't pick up on it.

It's too early to start fighting.

"Well, I for one, am looking forward to drinking far too much firewhiskey and making out with far too many guys," Phoebe joked as she dropped her robe, allowing her very naked body to be seen by all. She certainly was not a shy girl; very unashamed.

Joni laughed along with her friend shaking her head, but she couldn't help but get excited for Friday as well. It's been awhile since anything interesting has happened around here.
