K.J. Beckett. Unspecified summer camp.

Laila rolls her eyes when Katherine moves the envelope a little further on the bed. She's seen Chiron work on an Ancient Greek translation of the letter, and she can only guess what the letter says. Katherine has the letter since two hours before breakfast. They're almost heading down to the archery range, and it's still unopened. Maybe it's to do with the fact Katherine doesn't know if it's from her aunt or someone else. She is wanted for murder, after all. Or attempted. Still very unclear to Laila.

Laila's actually a little jealous that Katherine still has an aunt in the U.S. that's willing to take her in during the school year. Her entire family lives in India. It'd only been her mother looking for a better life. College, then getting a job, and then bring over a few other family members. Unfortunately, her mom met Apollo during a fraternity party, and that was the end of that. It bugs her that Katherine isn't reading the letter.

Supposedly, Chiron has gotten the letter the day before by one of Hermes' helpers as the sender had trouble addressing the letter. Laila wonders how much time has passed before the helpers stepped in. Considering Katherine got to camp almost three, maybe four days ago... Not many people knew her middle name, after all. Juliette sounds so dramatic to have with a name like Katherine, according to the girl herself. Laila thinks it suits her sister beautifully.

"Okay, if you're not going to read it, we should head to the range before some idiot cabin decides they're better at archery." Laila decides.

"I'm older than you, don't forget that. But I think shooting might clear my head before I subject myself to... I don't even know. Yara's not one to write much when I'm here, but she's the only one who'd put K.J. on an envelope."

"What about the New York cops?"

"You're pushing it now. Grab your bows, we're pretending to shoot our worst enemy's head!"

Katherine isn't ready to read what her aunt has to say. Most likely, it'll be something less than positive. She imagines her aunt never wants her to return after the accusations of attempted murder. Or maybe her aunt wants to know where she went wrong with raising Katherine. Truth be told, you can probably not go right with raising a demigod. Whether you know they're one or not. One way or another, they'll get into trouble with schools, with law enforcement, with everyone.

Lee Fletcher leads his siblings to the archery range atop of the hill. There's an unspoken agreement that Katherine assists the ones fairly new to archery, while Lee trains the rest to be magnificent archers. She doesn't mind. She's never been a warrior, and in battles she's most likely to be a medic. Honestly, she'd rather not step on a battlefield. Medic or warrior, it doesn't matter.
