Without another word spoken, the undying wraiths, with no noise nor weight in their movements swooped down from the wooden rafters above Vox Machina and Jarett's remaining soldiers alike. Instantly as their molten bodies flew through the air, the Tiefling woman was struck by one of the primordial beings, it's claws melting through her armoured chest plate like knife to butter and into her flesh forcing an eruption of black sludge to flow from both her eyes and maw, while her face grew gaunt and lifeless as if her very soul was being torn from her body.

Both her and the remaining soldier were thrust into the air, each Wraith unleashed ear piercing shrieks as they forced the two up toward the rafters and drove them right along the wooden beams straight toward the main doors, leaving a tidal wave of blackened blood in their wake as the remnants of the liquid erupted from every pore of the hapless guards until they're lifeless bodies were merely tossed to the stone floor with a sickening grind and a crunch, both faces gaunt and frozen with utter fear in their last moments as the goo hardened against their cold, dead skin.

Shifting through the party, one of the many undying glided past both Vex and Keyleth, seemingly ignoring them and shot right toward Scanlan who held Delilah's Grimoire protectively to his chest. With what strength the sluggish Oldegårdian could muster he rushed to intercept the wraith as fast as his wounded body would allow, pushing the Gnome out from his attackers grasp and to the floor, Delilah's macabre journal flying from his hand and skidding into the darkness.

Ragnvaldr's body lurched violently as yet another set of ghastly claws were driven into his chest, more of the blackened blood poured forth from whence each serrated daggers pierced staining his pale skin as more droplets flooded from both eyes and mouth, his face becoming far more corpse like as the enemy steadily drained the life from him. "Ragnvaldr!" Keyleth's panicked voice called out, watching with frozen horror as the Outlander tried but failed to resist what ever corruption had befallen him, glaring straight into the Wraith's dead, beady eyes defiantly still upright as the grateful Bard managed to scramble to his own feet with Grog protectively leering over him, prepared to tear the abominations limb from limb.

Another pair of Wraiths, whooshed straight over Jarett's soldiers mangled corpses ignoring everything that stood in their way as both loomed toward the Grimoire. "They want the book." Vex deduced as Ragnvaldr's attacker ripped the talons from his body, and lurched its head toward the item in question. Wasting not another second in joining the other beings with its emptied sockets reared upon the item in question.

As each and every undead raced to take back their masters valued property Vex sprang into action, even after seeing Ragnvaldr collapse to his knees, rasping violently as more ghastly mould flowed from his maw, she still dashed forward risking life and limb to stop them. Swiping the book into her grasp she turned, eyes instantly landing on the terrified Druid, "Keyleth! Heads up!" Vex screeched lobbing the parchment through the pitch black air toward her.

Yet it did little to stem the Wrath of the undying as two Wraiths joined at the hip charged the Half-Elf, thrashing her against the wall violently and phasing straight through her body and the layer of stone beyond, vanishing from sight as she too met the same fate as Ragnvaldr, collapsing straight to her knees barely conscious with the same black blood spilling down her blue tunic.

Pushing though the utter terror unfolding before her Keyleth leapt toward the book wild shaping into that of a brown furred rabbit, catching it between her teeny though toughened teeth and scurried across the floor, toward the dinning hall. Although one stubborn undead pulled itself as close to the cobbled stone as it could, practically dragging its rotted corpse like body across the floor. Jagged, rotted teeth just a feet from the Rabbits stubby tail.

Despite being their prime target, Keyleth refused to back down distracting Delilah's minion long enough for the others to gather themselves as best they could. However, even if she held the Journal it did little to deter the evil as one disciple rammed into Scanlan knocking him on his back and sinking its vicious talons straight into his exposed chest. Seemingly basking in the Gnome's pain as his body lurched painfully while the blades dug deeper and deeper into his meagre flesh.
