"I am just here to be your ally."
Her velvety, musical voice said with such a straight expression that I wanted to laugh.
But my spine just got straighter in nervousness.
"Why?" I asked.
This was the most important question after all. There was nothing special in me except that I had died and travelled to a different world. But she didn't know that.
I was not in any kind of influential position. I was no noble's daughter who could be her secret weapon or something. Infact, I was an outcast. There was definitely something that drew her attention to me. As soon as the attraction drops, I'll be out of the safe zone.
Logically thinking, there should be a different motive.
She chuckled softly and poured the tea into the teacups. We were sitting in the resting area that was present at every junction of the connected gardens. The wind breeze was cool. Her maids maintained their distance and turned their backs to us.
She handed me a cup. And she looked at me in the strangest way.
Please tell me it's not poisoned!
