THE GROUP LEFT THE BUILDING TOGETHER, STICKING CLOSE as they went around a corner. Rick stopped, lifting his hand up and stopping the others as they pressed their backs against a wall. Josie looked around the corner and saw Maggie and Glenn, who had bags around their heads.
Rick and Daryl threw smoke grenades and within seconds, the room filled with smoke. Men shouted and coughed from the explosion as Josie quickly went in and grabbed onto Maggie as the others got Glenn.
Josie pulled the bag off of Maggie's head and she looked at her. "Josie?"
"We'll catch up later," Josie said. "Let's go."
They both ran out behind the others and out into the streets, then Daryl had led them into a building. They slipped in as Glenn and Maggie sat on the ground.
Daryl looked around the building. "Ain't no way out back here."
"Rick, how did you find us?" Maggie asked.
"How bad are you hurt?" Rick asked Glenn.
"I'll be alright," Glenn replied.
"Where's that woman?" Maggie asked, looking around for Michonne.
"She was right behind us," Rick replied.
"Maybe she's spying," Oscar suggested.
"Want me to look for her?" Daryl asked.
"No, we gotta get them out of here," Josie replied. "She's on her own."
"Daryl... this was Merle," Glenn said. "He was... he did this."
"You saw him?" Daryl asked.
"Face-to-face," Glenn nodded. "He threw a walker at me. He was gonna execute us."
"So my brother's this Governor?" Daryl asked.
"No, he's somebody else," Maggie replied. "Your brother's his lieutenant or something."
"Does he know I'm still with you?" Daryl asked.
"He does now," Glenn replied. "Rick, I'm sorry. We told him where the prison was. We couldn't hold out."
"No, no need to apologize," Rick replied.
"They're gonna be looking for us," Maggie pointed out.
"We have to get back," Josie said before she looked at Glenn. "Can you walk? We got a car a few miles out."
"I'm good," Glenn nodded.
"Hey, if Merle's alive, I need to see him," Daryl said to Rick.
"Not now," Rick shook his head. "We're in hostile territory."
"He's my brother," Daryl argued. "I ain't gonna-"
"Look what he did," Rick cut him off, pointing at Glenn and Maggie. "Look, we gotta get out of here."
Daryl sighed. "Maybe I can talk to him and work something out."
"You're not thinking straight," Rick replied. "Look, no matter what they say, they're hurt. Glenn can barely walk. How are we gonna make it out if we get overrun by walkers or the Governor catches up to us? I need you! Are you with me?"
Daryl hesitated. "Yeah..."
Rick nodded as he handed Maggie a gun. Daryl then pulled out his flash-bangs and Rick slightly opened the door, allowing Daryl to toss the flash-bangs out into the streets.
