Shadow's POV

I swung my sword at a training dummy in the courtyard of the castle, I must be vigilant and prepared for whatever Quest King Arthur sends me on next, whether that be fighting off army's or simply guarding at a royal event

While I was training, I felt a tap on my shoulder, I swung my sword back at the potential intruder but they ducked, I looked down, and Luckily, it was an intruder, it was the king

I knelt down and bowed

"I apologize My king"

"It's alright Lancelot, it was an accident, what are you doing out here?" King Arthur asked

"I am training so that I may defend the kingdom from our next threat" I answered before putting my sword back in its scabbard.

"Well Sir Lancelot, I was hoping you would take a break for a bit, I have a mission for you, You see, the royal staff was stolen by the black knight, and I would like to send my most loyal knight to fetch it from the hands of evil, with the others knights being away, Your our last hope" King Arthur told me

"I shall retrieve the staff and bring honor to our kingdom" I told Arthur before bowing and then leaving

Sonic's POV

I watched as Sir Lancelot left after I gave him his command, the staff was a very important artifact, I smiled and walked up to the artifact room where the staff was originally stored, and began to look around, looking to see if any other important artifacts had been stolen.

"Interesting, they only wanted the staff" I muttered to myself before i walked over to the podium where the staff was, and sighed, I hope Lancelot can find the staff.

Suddenly, a sword was thrown and it landed on the wall near my head, I looked up and saw a minion of the dark knight standing at the entrance of the artifact room, I glared and pulled out caliburn.

Me and the minion dueled for several minutes before I finally managed to get the minion on the ground and aimed caliburn at them

"Who do you work for and why are you here?" I asked, with a threatening tone,

"The dark knight, and I'm here to make sure your guards are gone" the minion told me

I kept caliburn pointed at the minion and started thinking, it didn't take long for me to connect the dots

"Your whole plan to steal the staff was a trick, you never aimed to get rid of me, you aimed to get rid of my knights, well I won't allow it, my knights are safe" I told the minion

Then they suddenly started laughing, I glared

"Your a fool, not all of them are safe from the dark knight" the minion told me while laughing

I suddenly remembered, Lancelot!?! 

I glared again before using a different sword to pin the minion to the wall by their undershirt before I ran off, I have to get to Lancelot before he arrives to get the staff

Lancelot's POV

I arrived at the entrance of the dark knights fortress, I grabbed out my sword and slowly made my way into the fortress.

But as I was walking, I noticed something, the usual guards, the traps, The stuff that made this place a challenge, it's all gone, it's almost like the dark knight wanted me to get through this place

I managed to walk through the palace to the throne room and saw The staff in the middle, I rolled my eyes and sat on the ground, this is so obviously à trap

I sat there for like an hour before the door slammed open and I saw King Arthur. He was panting and out of breathe

"Lancelot! Don't grab the staff!" King Arthur yelled before he noticed I was sitting there

I stood up and walked over to him,

"The staff is clearly a trap, and I refuse to get caught in it, but I cannot leave the staff behind" I told king Arthur

"What should we do then?" Arthur asked

I began to think and after a few minutes, I came up with an idea

"I'll retrieve the staff and whatever trap happens, you'll save me from, is that alright my king?" I asked

Arthur nodded and We both approached the staff, I slowly grabbed it, and like I predicted, a trap was set off, arrows! But before they shot me, Arthur grabbed my arm, picked me, and ran.

In seconds, we were outside of the castle with the staff in hand, I looked at my king and he smiled at me

"Good Job Lancelot" Arthur told me

I smiled

"Thank you for saving me My king" I told Arthur, but then I felt a kiss on my cheek, I blushed a lot

Arthur chuckled before both of us walked back to the castle.
