HALLOWEEN was always the day where a party was located on every inch of the street.
It was also Asra's birthday.
Instead of the usual hangout at Laken's house, we were celebrating Halloween and her birthday at Devin's house.
His house was fully decked out. Hanging lights, cobwebs stretching across the ceilings, yellow caution tape, and a fog machine covering the floor.
A lot of people were already inside the place. Everyone was in some type of costume, going from fully clothed to barely clothed at all. Conversations, music, and laughter filled the house, swimming around in the dim lighting.
I walked in the house, right hand holding Weston's. It had been an hour already since the party had started. We had to leave after Easton did since she knew he wouldn't let her wear her costume out.
I was thankful I never had a sibling.
Weston wore a white bralette with matching white shorts that held ruffles in them. The shorts were pretty short on her, etching up higher when she walked.
She let her long black hair down, letting it hang behind her back. White bunny ears were placed in her hair, along with the white cottontail on her shorts.
I wore a white corset dress that was higher than mid thigh. It matched with the white angel wings that were on my back. My brown hair was resting behind my back, resembling the look from the movie.
I was dressed as Juliet.
"You're driving, so stay sober," Weston pulled my hand, guiding me into the kitchen with her.
The lighting inside the room had a purplish color to it from the hanging lights. Cobwebs were strung everywhere, glowing in the light.
Drinks littered the counter along with solo cups. The kitchen sink was filled with ice, a makeshift ice bucket for all the drinks sitting inside.
Right beside the stacks of red solo cups was a cauldron overflowing from dry ice. It made fog cover the counter, matching the fog on the ground that we walked in.
I looked up to see someone already in here. It was my cousin.
Kade wore a white tank top with his white athletic shorts. He had a gold leaf crown on his head, pressed in his black curly hair. The gold cuffs on his wrist matched the gold crown. Lipstick was littered all over his neck and his jawline from someone kissing him.
Someone else was in the kitchen with him. Her back was facing us while she had her arms around Kade's neck. He had his arms around her, letting his hands rest on her backside.
It was the same girl from the party.
She wore a red, mesh night gown with red wings that were shaped in a heart. In her auburn hair was a gold crown that held hearts in it. A bow and arrow was resting on the foggy counter behind her.
It seemed like they were Cupid.
Kade wasn't paying attention, having his face in the crook of her neck. Once he heard other movement in the kitchen, he looked up to meet our gaze.
The marks from the fight were still visible. He had a scar underneath his right eye, along with bruising surrounding it. His knuckles had cuts along it too.
"Look who finally decide to show up."
Weston smiled at that comment, grabbing a cup to pour a drink inside. "You can't look this good without being late."
Kade raised his brows, taking notice of both of our outfits. "Then I think you need to go back in the house a little longer."
"I can't stand you."
