Lydia's apprehension to attend her classes today was evident. She never was an early bird, and the idea of staying in her cosy bed for a few more minutes was an offer she couldn't resist. With the weight of upcoming assignments and her repetitive daily routine, it weighed heavily on her shoulders, creating a barrier for any motivation for the rest of the day.

Unlike yesterday, Lydia had made sure to set an alarm at 8:00 this morning to give her enough time to get ready. Picking out an outfit, and getting ready for the day was always one of Lydia's favourite things to do, however today she felt as though she had forgotten something important.

Attempting to not repeat the embarrassment of being late to class like she was yesterday, Lydia made sure she got to her lecture 5 minutes early. Walking into her lecture hall, Lydia made sure to pick one of the seats near the front, and sat down. Taking her laptop and notebook out of her bag, she surveyed the other people in the room, they were all talking animatedly and appeared to be excited for the upcoming lecture. Usually the lectures this early in the morning were boring, with people half asleep and not paying attention to the professor, so seeing everyone so awake and excited for today's class was an anomaly. Caught in the grip of her thoughts, Lydia failed to notice the sea of people entering the classroom and taking their seats. It wasn't until a gentle tap on her shoulder jolted her back to reality that she realised she had been completely absorbed in her own thoughts. Startled, she turned to find Olive, her best friend in the seat next to her. Noticing the excited look on Olive's face she was even more confused. "Why is everyone so excited today? I mean normally this class is dead and half empty...why are you looking at me as if I have two heads?" Lydia was becoming more and more concerned as Olive just continued to stare at her. "You mean to tell me you have forgotten what's happening today. Seriously Lydia this is like the biggest thing that is going to happen in this class all year." Olive was bewildered. "Lydia, how can you forget that today is our guest lecture day?" This only fueled Lydia's confusion. She didn't remember being told this, but then again she had always had a bad memory. "Well it can't be that exciting if I don't remember our professor telling us about it. Surely if some big event was happening today I would remember it. Right?" Olive just snickered at her, "Honey if your head wasn't attached to your body you would definitely forget to put it on in the morning." Offended, Lydia scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Oh I most definitely would not, thank you." Before Olive could give one of her snarky remarks back they noticed a commotion near the entrance. Four figures clad in bright orange gear entered, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. Among them was a face she could vaguely remember, but his name escaped her.

As the four figures took their seats in the centre of the stage, her professor made her way to the lectern off to the side. "Good morning everyone" she greeted. "I hope we are excited for today's guest lectures, but before they begin, can we please give a warm welcome to Andrea Stella, Zak Brown, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris!" As the guest lecture commenced, Lydia couldn't help but find herself captivated by the driver's insights into the engineering that powered their race cars. Despite the fact that Lydia had never been a huge fan of motorsports, their passion for the sport was contagious, and she couldn't help but admire their skill and dedication. Throughout the lecture, Lydia kept making eye contact with one of the drivers. She couldn't help herself, his eyes were captivating, a mix of blues and greens and his curly hair was perfectly styled. There was a constant nagging in the back of her mind that she knew him, but she couldn't figure out where she had seen him before.

After the lecture concluded, Lydia lingered for a moment, gathering her belongings and saying goodbye to Olive, who had to head off to another lecture. As she made her way towards the exit, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, she found herself face to face with the McLaren driver she had been admiring the entire lecture. She didn't know what to say, she couldn't exactly remember his name, was it Landon, or was it Leo. No, that didn't sound right. She was suddenly ripped from her thoughts when he began speaking. "Sorry if this seems a bit creepy, but you were at that club the other night, right. The one on Bourke Street?" he asked with an awkward smile. Lydia nodded, surprised at being recognized. She felt a rush of warmth come to cheeks as she remembered the morning after, her memories of that night still foggy. "Yeah, I was there." He nodded his head, smiling to himself. "I thought I recognised you," he said, extending his hand. "I'm Lando." She reached out, taking his hand. "Lydia," she replied. "It's nice to meet you." They began talking, and soon enough found themselves engaged in conversation for a while before Lando looked down at his watch, a realisation coming over him. "I am so sorry but I have to go, I have a meeting to get to." Lydia felt the weight of disappointment settle on her chest like a stone. She didn't want this to end, and as they exchanged reluctant goodbyes, Lydia couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that settled over her.

Now sitting in her room finishing off her homework, Lydia's phone pinged with a notification. Curious, she glanced at her screen to find a new follower request on Instagram. To her astonishment, it was from Lando. After a moment's hesitation, she accepted the request, her heart racing with anticipation.
