They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, but in the world of curses and legends, they are the harbingers of doom. Let's begin our descent into the darkness with the sparkle of our beloved Kohineer diamond. The 106 carat diamond entrails a bloody past, one that seems to dip the pen of this tale only in the bloody inl of males, females are said to be immune to its deadly curse.
Its early history spans 5,000 years of Indian, Persian, Afghan and Sikh capture and reconquest. Finally, British soldiers stole the diamond from the Sikhs. Today it rests in the crown of the Queen Mother. Interestingly, the Koh-i-Noor continues to be hotly contested- with Afghanistan, Iran and India claiming to be the rightful owners of the stone.

Next in line we have the Hope Diamond, the same gemstone that had inspired Rose's diamond gift in Titanic. Arguably the most famous and cursed gem in history, this 45.52-carat sparkler has a long and storied past. Hope Diamond has been accused of many tragedies, including but not limited to: assaults, stabbings, murders, insanity and suicide.
In fact, during the French Revolution and their beheadings, the magnificent blue diamond belonged to King Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette.The last private owner of the diamond - an American socialite named Evalyn McLean - her daughter dies of an overdose, her son dies in a car accident and her husband leaves her for another woman.
