Summer Afternoon

The sweet light has descended.
Burnished and soft thickness
answering in springy sighs
hungry for quietness.
Here, suddenly, is the ground
warping its ancient spears
fiercely facing the sun,
bronzed mirror into its primordial
abyssal clamour.
The afternoon roars then
in harmonious, silent glitters
throbbing in its soundless warmth
and dives in a solar rain
seeded over the powerful bosom
of the Ancient Abode.
Everything quivers then,
everything gives in,
and the mouths exude fragrant
verses singing
its unknown, crackling ecstasy.
