On this day, the sun was shining particularly warmly and the world had an air of lightness. A good mood pervaded my day as I focused on the little pleasures in life. A smile had already accompanied me through the whole university day and even when I arrived home, it hadn't left me.

I couldn't help but think back to yesterday, to Beomgyu's comment and that I had probably really helped him eat. It was remarkable how small gestures could have a big impact. When I read his comment thanking me for my support, I felt a warm satisfaction that has lasted to this day.

I wanted to help and had succeeded, at least to a small extent.

I was standing in my bedroom, tying my shirt that I wanted to wear tonight. It was Soojin and my anniversary, because we had been together for seven years on this very day. It was unbelievable how quickly time had passed.

Seven years - a time full of experiences, ups and downs that had brought us closer together.

Nevertheless, an uneasy feeling nagged at me, reinforced by the stories I had read about Soojin. Beomgyu's blog posts had cast a shadow over my thoughts. Despite the festive atmosphere of the anniversary, I couldn't simply shake off the doubts. A dichotomy between past and present characterized my mood as I set out to celebrate this special day. I opened the drawer where I kept my watch and rummaged through it. Amidst the handkerchiefs, earrings and bracelets, my hand came across something hard. I hesitantly took the object out and immediately recognized it as the box containing the engagement ring I had bought Soojin. A pang of surprise and uncertainty ran through me as I opened the box and placed the ring in my hand.

The small diamond, interwoven with tendrils, sparkled in the faint glow of the sun shining through the windows. I turned it back and forth so that it showed an impressive sparkle. The sight caused a painful twinge in my stomach and I bit my lower lip. All the knowledge I had recently gained came crashing down on me like the evening sun.

I had learned so much about my friend.

Supposed things she was supposed to have done.

But there was still the possibility that it wasn't her who had done this to Beomgyu. And I didn't know if that hope was strong enough.
