As I waited at the front of the school for my parents, I could tell my teacher was staring at me. "Lily, where are your parents?" she asked. "They're still at work. They'll be here soon." Sure enough, my parents drove up in their white Cadilac. My dad rolled down his window. He had a weird device on his neck. "Lily hunny, Daddy and Mommy love you. Always remember us." I tilted my head at him. "Of course, I'll remember you, daddy! I love you." I say, not grasping the gravity of the situation. My teacher pulled me away from the car. "Mrs. Jaxs? Why are you pulling me away." My mom started to sob. Mrs. Jaxs pressed my face against her chest and faced away from my parent's car. I heard a boom. I looked past her and saw a black misshapen car. "Where are mommy and daddy?" I asked her. That must be so confusing for a little girl.
