Chapter 4 - Flashback

Mike ignores the message, as he has been for the last little while now. He's sitting on the ground, his back resting against the wall as he struggles to get a breath in. The tablets containing the system information and camera footage are on the other side of the room, neglected. He can see one of them flashing, telling him the vent system needs to be rebooted, and he could easily do it from where he is by hacking into it with his powers...but he's choosing not to. He's simply sitting on the floor, waiting to pass out...a large part of him hopes this will shatter him

The bunny continues to ignore his system. He stares at the screen with system information, mindlessly watching as the word "ERROR" flashes in bright red next to the vent system option. He weakly smiles, a faint chuckle escaping him as his eyes fall shut

Mike could swear he hears a strange noise around him, like metal blocks hitting the floor at odd intervals. He ignores the sound, figuring it's just his mind playing tricks on him...he is very close to passing out, after all..

His system then falls silent, not even bothering to give more warnings about the low oxygen or the fact he's about to shut down. The system knows it's pointless now, there's no convincing Mike to stop doing this to himself. It knows Glitchtrap's system will pick up on Michael's distress eventually; that always happens, Glitch always saves him

As Michael feels himself getting closer and closer to blacking out, his senses begin to play up; the weird metal stomps seem to fade in and out, as if someone's repeatedly turning the volume up and down on his hearing. His body seems to become heavier with every passing second, like someone has chained him to the ground and is adding weights to hold him down

Right before he shuts down, a bright purple flash momentarily lights up the room. He recognises it instantly, having seen the burst of light through his closed eyes

—{Michael} P...ap...a..
—{Glitchtrap} My bunny, no..

Glitchtrap, who had teleported into the area, kneels down in front of Mike. He gently cups the boy's face just in time to feel him pass out, his body falling completely limp. The rabbit wraps his arms around Mike and picks him up off of the floor, one of his bunny ears flicking as he now hears the stomping

He freezes for a moment, his hold on Mike becoming protective, before he looks around
