It was not until Mariko got home before she realized her mistake. Yes, Akiro was very good at art and illustrations but she had no grasp on how good his storytelling capabilities were. Well, at this point it did not matter; the fact that someone else would be making original characters was good enough. The trip back home flew by as Mariko began brainstorming what she could do with this new unofficial agreement.

"I wish no one is home to see my torn skirt." Mariko thought as she walked up to the front door.

Placing her ear to the door, she listened to see if anyone was home. Not a sound came from inside the house. Mariko opened the door and stepped in. Walking through the house Mariko made it to her room without any problems. After changing into more comfortable home wear, she sat in front of the computer and began brainstorming.

"I should have made a schedule first. New game, or new video. The game will take longer to make so I need more time to devote to the development but, a video can get me more monetary value in the short run." Mariko thought to herself as she stared blankly at the computer monitor.

The screen remained dark as Mariko continued to think. She knew that the more time she wasted the less efficient her time table would become. However, she had gotten so used to the focus that was artificially generated by Adderall that now she just felt tired. Looking over to the bottle she debated taking another. She knew that her brain chemistry was already ruined by how much she took in the past to crank out her projects but why stop now. Grabbing the bottle she popped another pill, and started working on a new personal game project.

The day melted away as Mariko typed away at her computer. The game was small in scale compared to the other ones she had made in the past. It was a turn-based strategy game which pitted insurgents against the government. The only difficult part for Mariko was making the cutscenes for the game. Mariko didn't even notice when Aqua, Ruby, or her mother got home. It was only after she completed the starting menu of the game, and the underlying game manager did she finally realize that they were home.

"Finally I can do some market research. Well Aqua probably does not read too much manga but Ruby most definitely does. Plus, asking Aqua wouldn't hurt." Mariko thought as she made her way to Ruby and Aqua.

"Where were you all? I thought today was a school day?" Mariko said as she stepped into the living room.

"I took my brother, and Miyako shopping," Ruby replied joyfully.

Mariko looked over to Miyako and instantly could see why Ruby decided to drag her mother along. Miyako looked extremely tired. Mariko knew that her mother was responsible for raising both Ruby and Aqua as well as managing the talent agency which was a tall order. Mariko was somewhat glad that someone was looking after her even though it was supposed to be Mariko's responsibility. Well, at this point it did not matter. Ruby's shopping trip had allowed Miyako to relax so that was good.

Mariko looked at her mother and said, "I hope you had a relaxing time. When I get enough money in the future I will treat you to something nice. Then you would not have to work as hard." She finished her statement with a reassuring smile.

Miyako returned the smile as she replied, "Looking forward to it. Love you." Miyako ruffled Mariko's hair as she walked back to her office.

Mariko looked back to Ruby and Aqua before saying, "I have a question what sort of manga are you two reading nowadays."

"Why?" Aqua asked before Ruby could respond.

Mariko shrugged and said, "I just want to see what people consider cool or popular right now so I am actually asking everybody for their opinions."

"I like psychological stories." Aqua replied.

Mariko sighed before saying, "Are you being serious or are you just joking around?"

       "Serious."

"Okay, I should have expected that from you. What kind of psychological story?

"Anything that makes me think. It could be mundane or exciting and action packed. Either way if it gets me to think or critically I will enjoy it."

"Okay, so you like thought provoking stories, not really psychological ones then. Good to know. Ruby, what about you?"

Ruby looked as if she was thinking really hard on the matter. Certainly such a simple question could not be that hard to answer. I mean she could just choose multiple genres if it was that hard to sort them.

"If–" Before Mariko could continue her thought Ruby said, "Romance and Mysteries."

"What sort of mysteries?" Mariko asked, genuinely curious.

She had expected her sister of sorts to live romance but mysteries as a concept that she would like was completely out of left field. She had not expected that answer. She knew from the manga that Ruby was smarter and more cunning than people give her credit for, and that she is very capable of utilizing new information. However, Ruby never hit her as the type to read mystery novels.

"Okay, what sort of mysteries?" Marko asked.

"Supernatural things. I like the lighthearted ones though. Not really interested in the dark bloody stuff." Ruby replied thoughtfully.

"Well, thanks for the info but I would not call your taste mainstream. I might go ask my school friends." Mariko said before leaning in to whisper into Ruby's ear. "I think your taste is more normal though."

       "Phrasing." Ruby whispered back.

Mariko loudly exclaimed, "You have been watching too much Youtube."

With that Mariko turned around and ran back into her room to continue working on her project. It was going to take a couple of months to complete maybe even half a year. There was a lot to do.
