Lynn's POV

Ever since I walked into school on Monday everyone was staring at me and whispering. I had to check if I had something on my face or tp stuck to my shoes cause I didn't understand it. It wasn't until lunchtime that I understood what all the staring was about. Lunchtime was just Margo and I so far since the other girls hadn't left their classes yet.

"So LJ why didn't you tell me you went on a date with Natalie?"

"It wasn't a date. We watched one movie together and I didn't even know it was with her. I thought I was watching a movie with Missy."

"Yeah well you might wanna tell her that it wasn't a date because she has been staring at you ever since we sat down."

I looked over at the table across from ours and my eyes met Natalie's.

I quickly looked away. "Hold on a sec, did you say you were supposed to go with Missy?"

"Why?" "It's a long story." "Well the whole school's been talking about it and everyone's wondering if the two of you are dating."

"Well we're not. We just went out once and we probably won't again," I said.

Just then Paula came and sat down.

"So LJ word on the street is that you and Natalie are an item."

I rolled my eyes. "Well the streets are wrong. We're barely a thing. We went to one movie."

"Well that's not what the cheerleaders are saying and you know once the cheerleaders say something......" Paula paused. "It's gospel," Margo and I joined in.

Author's POV

The rest of the day went by pretty uneventfully. Lynn had one class with Natalie who wouldn't stop staring at Lynn. Admittedly it was making the brown haired girl a bit uncomfortable.

Lynn sat in the changing room listening to all her friends talking about their weekend plans. She was just glad to not be the center of attention. That was until Margo decided to mention it.

"So LJ are you gonna go out with Natalie again?" Margo asked.

"I don't know. We went out once I don't even know if I'm gay or a lesbian," I said.

"Well you won't know unless you try," Tina said.

"Well either way you gotta do something cause the school's not gonna stop gossiping until you do," Margo said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.   "She means you have to decide if you just want to be either a. Friends with Natalie,  b. In a relationship with her or c. nothing at all," Paula chimed in.

"Well that's for another day. For now it's game time!" I yelled, hyped up for practice.

Everyone cheered and we ran out of the locker rooms.

"Lynn! Can we talk?" I stopped in my tracks to see that it was Natalie who had called my name.

"Hey Natalie. What's up?"

"So you and I had fun last weekend right?" She asked to which I nodded.

"So I was wondering," she paused to look down at her shoes.  "If you wanted to hang out this weekend. This time without it being a surprise."
