Saanvi's pov

“Finally summer vacation has started, we are gonna enjoy it so much!!” A loud exclamation was heard as soon as I entered the room that was shared by me and my sister, Ipshita. And of course it belonged to her.

I put my school bag on the study table. My sister who was still in her school uniform came to me and stood in front of me.

“Behen, tujhe excitement nahi ho rahi vacations ki?”
(Sis are you not excited about vacations?)

“What is there to get excited about? We are going to stay at home anyways” I had zero interest in the vacations because for a child from a middle class family, there is nothing to get excited about.

“You are right par behen, vacations toh vacations hai. Chahe ghar par reh kar hi sahi, but still we will not have to waste our 8 hours in school and get bored”
(But vacations are vacations. Even if we have to stay home still we will not have to waste our 8 hours in school and get bored)

“Lagta hai tu holiday homework k baare m bhul gayi meri pyaari behna” I gave her a tight smile watching her expressions fall in a second after my sentence.
(Looks like you forgot about the holiday homework my dear sister)

“Why did you have to ruin my excitement this soon!!?” She whined.

While I opened the cupboard and took out my clothes to get changed. I chuckled before entering the washroom to get changed.

After changing when I came out, she was not in the room anymore. Quickly opening my braids and making a bun, I made my way out to have lunch.

There I saw mumma serving dinner to her. When I came and sat beside my sister on the sofa, she also served me.

“Tum teeno ki vacations start ho gayi, that means, tum teeno ab mera sukh chain kharab karoge” me, my sister and my younger brother looked at each other before we started giggling.
(Now that you three’s vacations have started, you three will ruin my peace)

“But I don't do that. These two are the ones who fight all day” I heard from my side. I pinched her forearm and she let out a hiss.

“Accha ji, abhi bata dungi tujhe acche se zyada boli toh” I glared at her and she showed me her tongue.
(Oh really, If you say more then I will show you)

“You both are grown up, at least act like your age” Mumma said.
Oh really? But when we act like our age, they say you are a kid. And when we act like kids, they say we are grown up.

Kare toh kare kya hum!?

We started eating our lunch while watching TV and then went to our room.

I plopped down on the bed ready to get a nap, because we had tuition at 5 pm, and we only had 2 hours. So I better spend it having a nap. That will make me concentrate on studies better.

I looked at the clock in our room and it showed 2:55 pm and I had this urge to go out to the balcony. Why? Because I have a crush on my neighbour. Vansh, that's his name. I don't know much about him because we have never interacted.

I just know his name and the timings of his school, like when he comes home. And this time is perfect when he comes back from his school.

I stood up from the bed and saw my sister already knocked off. I always wondered how she and my brother manage to sleep in a second. I keep shifting for minutes and sometimes hours to finally let sleep engulf me.

Lgta h pichle kisi Janam mein kumbhkaran k bhai behen the ye.
(Looks like they were brother or sister of kumbhkaran in their past lives)

Stepping onto the balcony, I first checked if my mother was there or not. She was not there, so I went to the railing and stood there getting its support.
