I was getting nervous, I am really going to meet his parents without him...tsk I don't know what to do ..how should I go in front of my in-laws. I mean I don't have any knowledge of how to..how to go in front of them.
"Wh...what should I wear" I asked myself but I did not have any answer for it
I hurriedly got up from the bed and ran inside the closet .. should I .. should I wear a saree... I asked myself...
"You are not in India" my inner voice mocked
tsk...then what should I wear, I ran back to my bedroom and saw Martha Aunty standing on the door step...I decided to ask her
"Aun...aunty wh..what should I wear...I..I mean I am going to meet my in-laws for the very first time..so I am not able to decide what I should wear?" I asked while getting panic
"You can wear anything dear ...you look beautiful in everything" she said politely but with a sad smile..why sad smile...tsk maybe I am overthinking
"MARTHA... MARTHA"
We heard a loud lady's voice , I got startled by the sudden loud voice...I looked towards Martha Aunty and she hurriedly ran out of the room... making me feel scared of the lady
"wh...what if she didn't like me... he..he is not here to defend me or to take my side...wh..what will I do" I said to myself and ran towards the mirror
I stood in front of the mirror and started caressing my heart to make it calm down
"It's okay Ruhanika...it's okay don't overthink.. afterall she is Aryan's mom..she.. she'll be nice with you.."
But then I remembered that he didn't had a good bond with his parents but now they are here..maybe they want to rebuild the connection with him. Afterall they are his parents..they do love their son
"Hm... Ruhanika..you can do it...they love their son ... that's why they are here" I said and confidentially walked inside the closet and took a blue ankle length jeans and black printed top, and quickly wore it
I came to our bedroom and tied my hair in a high pony tail and applied vermillion in my hair partition, I wore my mangalsutra around my neck and took a deep breath
"It's okay...you can do it" I said to myself while looking in the mirror.
"Should I call Aryan?" I asked myself while picking up my phone but there must be midnight... I thought to myself
"But no..let it be... when he'll come back the day after tomorrow he'll be surprised by seeing his parents here .." I said excitedly imagining his smiling face..
