Meerab slowly stirred, her eyelids fluttering open to the soft glow of the morning light filtering through the curtains. As her vision adjusted to the brightness, her gaze immediately landed on the wall clock across the room. Blinking away the remnants of sleep, she squinted to focus on the time, her pupils dilating slightly at the realization that it was nearing noon. She had slept much longer than intended, losing track of time in the comforting embrace of slumber.

The lingering scent of bukhoor wafted through the air, a fragrant reminder of the different ambiance of their temporary home in Karachi, distinct from the familiar scent of their residence in Hyderabad. Stretching beneath the covers, she felt the warmth of his body pressed against hers, their forms intertwined in the cocoon of the duvet. It was a familiar comfort, their bodies fitting together like pieces of a puzzle, each curve and angle finding its perfect match.
