Felicia's Point of ViewI can't believe she is the Veronica that Don always talks about. From the moment I set my eyes on her, there was something so vile about her. She hated me, I could feel it, but the feeling was mutual. Not because of jealousy or anything, but I just don't like her.
Yes, it is true that from the first time I met Don at Figlia di Rosa clinic, I fell head over heels for him; The way he carries himself, the way his lips move when he talks, the way he stares into people's souls with his deep-set eyes, the way his lips curl when he smiles. Just the sound of his voice is enough to make my body warm, he speaks like a true Siciliano with a dash of un accento Spagnolo in every word.
I don't know if he knows this, but whenever he is lost in thought, he subconsciously clicks his tongue in such an adorable way. Everything about him is perfect. He barely smiles at me, and the only times he smiles my way is when Gio is around. I was like a lovesick puppy, waiting for the day he would see me for who I am; a woman ready to do anything for him. I longed to be by his side, to become Gio's mother, and to rule beside the Don as his queen.
Earlier today, I watched him take care of his little boy as always but it never gets old to me. After he put Gio to sleep, he came to stand in front of me in the hallway, and for a second, I was stupid enough to think he wanted to kiss me. I felt his embrace and I wanted more, but he moved away, leaving me an awkward mess. I wanted to scream at him to love me back, but I could not be pathetic. But when I saw Veronica's true colors, I no longer felt guilty about my feelings for him. I am not ashamed to admit that I desire him now more than ever,
She doesn't deserve him like I do.

I took Bella into the room next to Gio's and I helped her undress so she could bathe. I noticed a few faded red marks on her belly and her back, which spiked my concerns. Bella looked so tired, so I bathed her and lay her on the bed.
"I'll go get you some food, okay, Belle?"
She nodded lightly and closed her eyes. I went to the kitchen, making a mental note to inform Don about my observations.
As I was returning shortly after, I saw Veronica getting out of Bella's room, her newborn wasn't in her arms. Then she made her way into Gio's room.
I rushed into Bella's room to find the little girl shaken up.
"Hey, what happened?" I asked.
She shook her head. "Nothing"
"You can tell me" I urged calmly, but She shook her head again. I decided to ask no further so she doesn't get in trouble with her mother. "Can you feed yourself, baby?" I asked her.
"Yes" she answered, and took the spoon from my hand, she began eating.
I kissed her forehead, "I'll be back before you know it." I got up and went out of the room. I opened the door to Gio's room next door and went in.
Veronica was seated at Gio's bedside. It wasn't easy putting Gio to sleep earlier since he had a little fever, but who am I to question the lady of the house? so I put a smile on my face and spoke calmly. "He needs to sleep-"
"How dare you barge in here without my permission." She cut me short, her eyes held so much contempt for me.
She returned her attention to Gio. "I'm here for my dear son," She caressed His face. "My little Gio, I've missed you."
He opened his eyes and looked up at her. "Mommy?"
My heart broke into pieces when he said that to her. I have been taking care of him all this time, but she just shows up out of nowhere and he calls her 'mommy?' When she isn't even his real mother.
She looked back at me, "You are excused" she asserted at me with a wave of her hand, dismissing me.
"I'm not your maid, I take care of Gio."
A sarcastic smile appeared on her face, "And I'm saying You. Are. Dismissed." I turned to walk out when she said something else that stopped me in my tracks. "I can see right through you, Felicia. I see you trying to get your claws into my man, I'll teach you that I am not the type of woman who lets another steal what belongs to her."
I turned to her, deeply pained by her words, but masking my pain with an arrogant smirk. "If I wanted your man, I would have had him. I can see you're not a good person, and in just a matter of time, he will realize that." I stormed out.
I headed straight for Don's office, I couldn't take this anymore.
I couldn't find him in his office so I went out to the backyard. I saw him having a quiet conversation with Leo which I interrupted. "I need to speak to you, Don," I demanded, wondering where I got the courage.
He signaled to Leo and Leo walked off, leaving just the two of us. "What's the matter, Feli?" Don asked.
"I think you should have a word with your woman, she is condescending and rude, she talks to me like I'm the help"
He took a moment to process what I said, then he replied, "I'll talk to her." One side of his lips curled in a smile. There was something about his smile that calmed me down.
I nodded, too captivated to look away. "Okay."
He cocked an eye. "Anything else?"
"Yes," I said gathering all my courage. I had heard about how he would go against anyone for the woman he loves and I was scared he would kick me out of the house if I complained too much about her, but this time, I had to speak up. "Bella... she has red marks-"
"Patrizio!!!" someone yelled from inside the house. Of course, none other than Veronica, however, this time, this seemed to be an urgency in her voice. Immediately, Patrizio rushed inside and I was right behind him...

As we approached the living room where the commotion was coming from, I could hear Mamma Bianca's voice screaming constantly; "Strega! Strega!"
how did she escape this time?
We finally got there and I saw Mamma Bianca shouting profanities at Veronica and trying to hurt her. Standing behind Veronica was Gio who looked so scared.
"Take this old hag away from me, Patrizio!" Screamed Veronica.
Patrizio went to his mother and tried to calm her down, but she kept reaching for Veronica, screaming more terrible words. "Lei è il diavolo! Bruciatela!Bruciatela! Mandatela via!!!"
Whilst Patrizio was trying to handle his mother, I was concerned about Gio so I ran to him, but Veronica pushed me away. "Don't touch my son!"
Mamma Bianca kept pointing fingers at Veronica whilst Patrizio grabbed her as civilly as he could. She got free from his hold and scratched him with her super-long nails. The scratch was so bad I felt pity for him as he kept grabbing her hand to stop her from coming close to Veronica. The scratch marks on his neck were bleeding, as well as those on his chest and arms. His white shirt had lines of blood soaked in it.
He finally got a hold of her and dragged her back inside.
I turned to Veronica to ask her if she was okay, and I will never forget the look I saw in her eyes...
She was smiling the entire time.
