Episode 19: Aftermath

"Hey Kitty wake up."

What? Wake up? I am awake...hold on... Kitty's eyes slowly opened, groggily. She looked around, and it was blurry, but once she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, things became clear as day. Her heart skipped a beat. "Wait a minute...it was all a dream?" The shock of the realization hit her like a tidal wave.

Q had a worried expression, "I'm going to answer yes. You fell asleep during the final."

"I FELL ASLEEP DURING THE FINAL!" Kitty slammed her hands against the table and stood up. Now, she was more than awake. Looking around the classroom, there was no one else, just her and Q. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"I tried, but Professor saw me thinking I was trying to cheat -- luckily, she didn't fail me!"

Kitty groaned and wiped her face; I'd rather have the dream a reality than this reality. Kitty put her head on the table again and began to groan in disbelief that she slept through the final.

"Ms. Covey," Kitty raised her head and looked around, the classroom was full again and students were eyeing her. "If you do not wish to take the test then feel free to leave." Wait, what? No way. I had a dream within a dream? Damn, I am really out of it.

"...Kitty you have the weirdest dreams." Minho said as he took a sip of his coffee.

"I know you both had a sex dream. About each other might I add." Q blurted out making Kitty and Minho choke on their drinks. They both glared at Q who only smirked and hiked a shoulder, knowing they couldn't say anything back.

"We still have to talk about that dream." Minho whispered in her ear and Kitty shook her head fast. Minho peeked at Q who was grinning, "I guess it was a very dirty dream then?" Kitty groaned at his tease but held her lips together.

The remainder of the week the finals flew by fast and Kitty was ready to be done with it all. As she got out of her last one, she bumped into Soobin. Letting out an annoyed sound, she walked around him but he just followed her.

"Look, I wanted to apologize for everything okay?"

"Why now? What's going on?"

"Nothing...okay something." Kitty was impatiently waiting, hand on her waist and tapping her right foot. Soobin sighed, "I like Haru. Not as a fake or crush, but I like her. But she thinks that you and I are on bad terms so she doesn't even want to associate with me."

"What does this have to do with me? She and I aren't close."

"Well she thinks otherwise. Please, can you just talk to her?" Am I playing this love doctor shit again? Ugh. I'm too nice. "Fine, I'll talk to her."

"Thank you!" Soobin grabbed her hand and eagerly shook it, Kitty had the disgusted look and removed her hand from his, "Alright. Bye."

Do I seriously have to talk to her? I don't see why me. I should tell Minho to do it...but then again, a girl has to hear it from a girl. I don't know, if the roles were reversed I guess it'd be better to hear it from the main person. Ugh, fine. I guess I am doing this. But he didn't say when so I can do it later whenever I see her.

"I am so glad exams are done." Kitty was currently on the FaceTime with her sisters that evening. She thought of going out but then Lara Jean and Margot called so she stayed in her dorm. Q was over as well but then he left to get some dinner.

"So how are things going for you and Minho these days?"

"It's good, we're doing good. He's been nothing but the sweetest boyfriend of course."

"Good. How about you Margot? Any guys yet?" Lara Jean teased as she wiggled her eyebrows to the oldest. She was laughing but shook her head. "No guy for me yet. Don't worry, you two will be the first ones to know."

"We better Margot!"

Knock knock. "Oh that must be Q, he went to get us dinner." Taking her phone with her, she opened the door, not to reveal Q, but Haru. Crying. She was sobbing and sniffling loudly that Kitty's sisters heard.

"Kitty, what's going on over there?" Margot asked first and Kitty flashed a quick smile and a quick bye.

"Hey, Haru. Are you okay?"

"No. Can I come in?" Kitty looked behind her, as if there was someone there to confirm, she opened her door wider and Haru sat down on the couch, hugging one of the pillows. What am I supposed to do? I'm not friends with her, Minho is.

"Is everything okay?"

"No. One of my best friends, my closest friend, found out that I was gay and now she doesn't want to talk to me."

Kitty let out a soft gasp, that reminded her of Yuri's situation and her mom. Instinctively, she wrapped her arm around Haru as she continued to cry. It took a few minutes but Haru finally calmed down and began to tell Kitty of what happened.

"She had overheard from somebody that I was interested in a girl. So she came to confront me about it. Of course I knew how she felt about it so I never told her my sexuality. But I didn't expect her to be that upset. I mean I'm her best friend! Or was, I guess."

Kitty felt really bad for Haru, "I am so sorry that she reacted like that. Look," Kitty placed her hands on Haru's shoulder to hold her up so she could see her eyes, "if she really was your friend then she would've accepted you for who you are. Sexuality shouldn't matter when it comes to friends."

Haru was nodding her head, listening to every word that was coming from Kitty's mouth. "You need to find new friends. I have two friends who are also gay and they're cool! I'm sure you'd like them and I know they'd like you too. I don't think they know too many people who are also gay."

"S-so you're o-okay with it?" Haru sniffled as she took another tissue and blew her nose. Kitty had a soft smile, "I am. I don't care if you're into girls -- what matters is who you are as a person."

"Thank you, Kitty."

"Of course Haru. We girls have to stick with each other through these times." Haru eyed her with a raised eyebrow, Kitty sheepishly smiled, "I don't know. It just sounded right to say."

"Well, I'm not going to keep you any longer. I think you were on the phone when I came in so I'm sorry to have bothered you." Haru said as she placed the pillow back, threw away her tissues and washed her hands.

"It's alright Haru. Thank you for trusting me even though we haven't really had much interactions together." Haru lingered a bit and Kitty began to feel a bit awkward now that she remembered Soobin's request. Kitty pointed towards the door and Haru got the hint, "Um --" but before Kitty could say anything, Haru jumped her and kissed her. Kitty was too stunned to speak.

Kitty was holding the door open when Haru did that, and as it happened both Q and Minho were right there. To witness Haru jump Kitty. Everyone was too stunned to speak or do anything.

I can't wait for Season 2 to be released of XO, Kitty!! Ah I'm so excited to see how it turns out. Seeing the new cast, I just can't help but think of my story 😂 new guy and new girl for Kitty to meet or for Q, oooo👀
