I think so much about these future moments of happiness that I forget about the conversation I need to have with my boyfriend the next day. I even begin to doubt and think,

"What if it's not such a good match after all? What if he needed this wake-up call to realize my worth and fight for us?"

Then I remember a phrase a friend has repeated to me countless times:

"It's better to be alone than with someone who doesn't realize your worth when they're with you. If you have to leave for them to wake up, they're not the right one."

This phrase resonates in my head and has never made so much sense. Especially now that I have the contrast between my relationship and the encounter that perhaps just turned my life in a whole new direction.
