Elena had woken up early, rather too early, it was safe to say that she had a nightmare, causing her to shoot up with her eyes wide open and heavy breathing, without thinking she touched herself and let out a big breath she didn't know she was holding, now just realizing it was nothing but a nightmare.
After that, she turned her head to see her boyfriend still lying in the bed, sound asleep, his breathing steady, which seemed to call down Elena. She turned to look at the walls of their shared bedroom, trying to get herself to calm down more, before pulling the covers off of her and making her way downstairs to the kitchen to grab herself a cold glass of water.
Once she reached she took a cup from the cabinet and filled it fully with icy cold water before taking a seat on the stool of their kitchen island, just trying to calm herself down, the nightmare lingering in her mind which she wanted to get rid off, especially since it was not true, her boyfriend was not in a car accident the day of his game. He was upstairs sleeping peacefully, surely going to wake up in the next few hours or so.
She just needed to calm herself down, she knew that this wouldn't happen to Pablo, he has driven very carefully on the road and is always cautious before a game, she knew that this was just her mind playing games with her especially with her fear on car crashes, once again the girl took a deep breath and drank from the cup she was holding with both hands, her eyes looking at the picture on the wall across from her.
Pablo and her standing next to each other while they took a trip to New York once, a picture of them in Times Square at night, his arms wrapped around her waist, while hers were around his neck, she smiled and remembered the day exactly, it was one of the best little holidays they went on together, she was lost in thought thinking about that trip from a year ago that when the kitchen lights got flicked open, it startled the girl.
Her head shot in the direction of the light switch as she saw her boyfriend standing there, half awake, his own eyes squinting at the sudden heavy light in the kitchen. "My love, what are you doing up this early?"
He asked her, as his eyes began to adjust to the sudden change in light, now making his way over to his girlfriend and sitting on the island stool next to her, his arm immediately rubbing her back as he did so.
"Bad dream, that's all" The girl mumbled to her boyfriend, still holding the glass with both hands, as she began to fiddle with the half-empty cup of water, her eyes fixated on it, feeling the cold on her fingers and palms of her hand.
"What about amor" her boyfriend continued to ask, he did wake up slightly by the sound of wind outside from their open window in their shared room, wanting to go close it only to realize that he was the only person in bed, it was safe to say that he got worried and immediately went down to the kitchen, seeing her with a glass of water looking at the wall.
"You got into a car crash" Elena muttered, now feeling tears break their way through as they began to flow down her face, as her head moved to look at her boyfriend, whose hand was still around her. But once she met with her boyfriend's brown eyes, soft brown chocolate eyes, she fully broke, tears now streaming down her face like a waterfall, now Pablo moving his stool closer to her and wrapping his arms around, pushing her head to rest on his chest.
"Shh, El, I am here, I am right here, nothing happened, amor" Pablo whispered softly to keep his girlfriend from crying any further, this fear that her girlfriend had which was completely normal was really starting to affect her greatly. This fear started ever since the day she once almost crashed back when both of them used to live in Sevilla.
