Chapter 3: Exam and Apprehension Test

As the morning sun cast a warm glow over UA High School, Cathleen Bate, also known as Star and Stripe, stood beside Izuku Midoriya at the school's entrance. She smiled down at him.

"Alright, Izuku. This is your chance to see what UA is all about. Watch carefully and learn. I'll be back soon, okay?"

Izuku nodded. "Thank you, Cathleen."

Cathleen ruffled his hair affectionately before heading off to the airport. Izuku watched her go, feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves. Taking a deep breath, he made his way to the observation booth where he would watch the entrance exam.

Inside the observation booth, Izuku found himself surrounded by some of the most well-known pro heroes. Snipe, Cementoss, Midnight, Present Mic, Ectoplasm, Power Loader, Vlad King, Eraserhead, and Principal Nezu were all there, monitoring the participants.

Izuku took a seat, trying to stay as inconspicuous as possible. He watched the students below preparing for the practical exam with keen interest. He looks among the other recommended students and his attention was drawn to two students who seemed to stand out among the rest. One was a mature-looking girl with long black hair tied in a ponytail, and the other was a boy with striking peppermint-colored hair and a burn scar on the left side of his face.

Intrigued, Izuku decided to introduce himself. He approached them with a friendly smile. "Hi there! My name is Izuku Midoriya. Are you two here to watch the exam?"

The girl with black hair turned to him with a polite smile. "Yes, I am. My name is Momo Yaoyorozu. And this is Shoto Todoroki."

Shoto gave a small nod, his mismatched eyes studying Izuku curiously.

"So, Who recommended you, Izuku?" Momo asked with curiosity.

Izuku hesitated for a moment, then decided to reveal the truth. "I was recommended by Star and Stripe."

The room fell silent. The pro heroes, who had been focused on the monitors, turned their attention to Izuku with their eyes widen in shock. Even Momo and Shoto seemed taken aback.

"Star and Stripe?!" Momo repeated, her eyes wide. "The number one hero in America!?"

Izuku nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed by the sudden attention. "Yes. She believes in me and thinks I have what it takes to be a great hero."

Principal Nezu, who had been silently observing the interaction, stepped forward with a smile. "Well, it seems we have quite the remarkable candidate here. Welcome to UA, Izuku Midoriya. I look forward watching you grow into a fine hero." The other heroes murmured among themselves, clearly impressed.

As the practical exam began, the teachers stood together, observing the students with keen interest. Aizawa, known for his no-nonsense attitude, couldn't help but nitpick.

"This year's batch seems to have some promising prospects," Cementoss remarked.

Midnight nodded in agreement "Yes, they seem more confident and coordinated compared to last year."

Present Mic chimed in with his trademark enthusiasm "And they've got some real firepower! Did you see that kid with 6 arms? He's gonna be a force to be reckoned with!"

But Aizawa, ever the grumpy pants, couldn't resist finding fault. "They're still sloppy. Look at that one over there, tripping over his own feet. And that girl, her aim is all over the place."

Meanwhile, Izuku watched from the observation booth, his eyes darting from student to student. His attention was drawn to his ex-best friend who was tearing through the exam bots with a crazed smile. Despite that, Izuku felt calm. He wasn't afraid of his former friend anymore. Instead, he felt a twinge of pity.

"I think its been long enough" Principal Nezu pressed a red button and released the Zero Pointer. To the teacher's disappointment, everyone ran away like a scared dog. Aizawa grimaced "How can they call themselves future heroes if there scared of one thing?"

The Zero Pointer swung it's massive arms and demolished several buildings as it continued on. But suddenly debris fell onto a girl with chestnut hair and puns her in the path of the Zero Pointer.

"Nezu, stop that thing! It'll crush her!!" "I can't! The button is unresponsive!" "I'm not fast enough, I won't make it in time!!" The teachers suddenly hear an explosion. They turn to see the Zero Pointer destroyed and Izuku helping the girl with chestnut hair. "What? When did he?"

Everyone finally noticed a large hole in the ceiling under were Izuku was sitting. "WOAHHH!! I didn't he see him move! He must have a pretty good quirk!" Present Mic shouted with his glasses hanging from his face.

Aizawa was impressed and couldn't resist a smirk. "Not bad, kid. Not bad at all."

Izuku glanced up at the observation booth, where Momo and Shoto were watching with wide eyes. He gave them a sheepish smile before returning his focus to the girl with chestnut hair.

Two weeks had passed since the UA High entrance exam, and Izuku Midoriya found himself wandering the hallways of UA High School, trying to locate his classroom, 1A. "Is this a school or a maze?"

He couldn't help but feel excited and nervous at the same time. This was it. The start of his journey to becoming the first quirkless hero. But first, he had to find his classroom.

He turned a corner and nearly collided with a rednette. "Oh, I'm sorry!" Izuku saids and steps back quickly.

The student laughed, showing off a set of sharp teeth. "No problem, bro! You're looking for 1A, right? I'm going there too! We can walk together!"

Izuku smiled gratefully. "That be great, thank you."

The two continued down the hall and finally spotted a large door marked "1A."

The classroom was already bustling. Students were chatting and arranging their desks, and Izuku recognized a few faces from the entrance exam. He saw Momo Yaoyorozu and Shoto Todoroki sitting near the front, and a few seats away was Katsuki Bakugo who was scowling as usual while being yelled at by a boy with blue hair and glasses.

Izuku quickly found an empty seat towards the middle of the room and sat down. He took out his notebook and placed it on his desk.

As he settled in, the door opened again and Shota Aizawa walked in with his usual tired expression. "Settle down, everyone. My name is Shota Aizawa, and I'll be your homeroom teacher."

Everyone returned to their seats as Aizawa walked to the podium. "It took you 8 seconds to settle down, we can better than that. Welcome to UA High School. You all did well to get here, but this is just the beginning. The road ahead will be hell, and you'll need to work harder than ever if you want to become heroes."

Aizawa reached down and held up a UA gym uniform "Grab your size and meet me at the P.E Grounds." Izuku grabs his uniform and heads for the locker rooms, everyone follows his example.

Aizawa arrives at the P.E Grounds and was surprise to see Izuku there already and warming up. "I wasn't expecting to see you here so early?" Izuku looks at Aizawa with a smile "Heroes must always be on time to save lives." Aizawa nods as the other finally arrive. "That's pathetic. Your aspiring heroes and people would have died by time you arrived."

Aizawa tosses Bakugo a ball "You will set the bar. Step in this circle and throw that ball with your quirk." Bakugo steps into the circle and throw the ball with an explosion "DIE!" 'Die?' Class 1A thought together. Aizawa showed everyone's bakugo's score. "Woah! 705.2!" "That's UA for you!" "This going to so much fun!"

A tick mark was visible on Aizawa's forehead "Fun huh? Alright lets make this more fun, last place is deemed with zero potential and will be expelled." Class 1A paled "What!?" "You can't do that, some of us worked hard to get here! That's not fare!"

"Too bad, Life isn't fair. Wanna stay in UA then prove you belong here and don't hold back. Plus Ultra."

Izuku walked into the circle and Aizawa tossed a ball "Remeber, don't hold back. If you are then consider yourself expelled." Izuku nods 'I know he said not to hold back but I don't want to destroy anything. I'll just hold back a little."

Izuku gets in a pitcher's position and throws the ball. The ball broke the sound barrier several times, the ground explodes and a massive rush of air nearly blows everyone away completely, including Aizawa. One the wind died down Izuku was standing in a decent size crator aside where he was standing. Aizawa stands up while brushing himself and shows the results.

"Infinity!?!" 1A shouted in "What the what!?" "That's was incredible!" "There's a crator!"

"Oh and the explosion was a lie. A logical ruse to get you to give it your all. Change and pick up your syllabus and head home." 1A where relieved that none of them where being expelled. Bakugo however was glaring angerly at the results. '4th place! How did I get 4th place?! I'm suppose to be the best!! That quirkless Deku even got first! He lied about his quirk! He had to!!!'
