The stadium was alive with excitement as the next phase of the Sports Festival approached. The crowd's cheers echoed through the massive arena, everyone on the edge of their seats. Present Mic's voice boomed over the speakers, crackling with energy.
Present Mic {yelling into the microphone}: "YEAAHHH!!!! ALRIGHT, EVERYONE! IT'S TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT! THE ONE-ON-ONE TOURNAMENT!"
The crowd erupted into cheers, their anticipation building. On the side, Midnight stepped forward, her whip in hand as she addressed the students and audience alike.
Midnight {grinning, raising her hand to quiet the crowd}: "The rules are simple: knock your opponent out of bounds, immobilize them, or force them to surrender. No killing, of course!"
There were a few chuckles in the crowd as she smirked mischievously before calling the first fighters.
Midnight {pointing to the stage}: "Now, for our first match, let's bring down Izuku Midoriya and Hitoshi Shinso!"
The audience roared with excitement as Izuku and Shinso made their way to the arena. Izuku, full of energy and confidence, took his position on the stage. His fists were clenched, and his eyes were focused. Meanwhile, Shinso stood with his arms crossed, a smug smirk on his face. He glanced over at Izuku, thinking this would be an easy win.
Shinso {thinking, smirking to himself}: 'This guy looks gullible. I'll win in no time.'
In the commentary booth, Present Mic was still hyping up the crowd.
Present Mic {enthusiastically}: "LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED! Who's ready for some action?!"
Aizawa {calmly}: "Don't underestimate Midoriya. He's come a long way. Shinso will have to work hard to win this."
Present Mic {teasing}: "Ooooh, Aizawa, are you picking favorites already?"
Aizawa didn't respond, simply watching the arena with his usual stoic expression. This round was over before it could begin.
The signal rang, and the match began. Shinso immediately took the offensive, charging toward Izuku with a sloppy punch, clearly aiming to provoke him into talking. His movements were slow, unrefined, as if he believed one hit would be enough to end the fight.
Shinso {smugly}: "Come on, Midoriya. Say something. Make it easy for me."
Present Mic {Shouting}: "Its Hintoshi Shinso on the offensive! What will Midoriya do!?"
But Izuku wasn't phased. He easily dodged Shinso's clumsy attack, stepping to the side in one smooth motion.
Izuku {thinking confidently}: 'That was too easy.'
Without hesitation, Izuku retaliated, pulling his fist back, ready to strike. But just as his punch was about to connect with Shinso's face, he stopped. His fist hovered mere inches from Shinso's nose, and the air around it exploded with force. A massive gust of wind erupted from the halted punch, sending a shockwave that tore through the arena.
Shinso {eyes wide in shock}: *'What-?!'*
The gust hit Shinso with full force, lifting him off his feet and throwing him backward across the arena. The crowd gasped as Shinso's body became a blur and crashed outside the boundary line with a thud.
Midnight {raising a hand}: "Hitoshi Shinso is out of bounds! Izuku Midoriya is the winner!"
The stadium exploded with cheers as Izuku lowered his fist with a calm smile on his face. He turned toward Shinso, who sat up, rubbing his bruse, still stunned by how quickly the fight had ended.
Shinso {grumbling, frustrated}: "You didn't even hit me..."
Izuku walked over, offering him a hand.
Izuku {smiling}: "You fought well. Decent combat knowledge. But I'm just way too strong."
Shinso hesitated for a moment before taking Izuku's hand, pulling himself up with a sigh.
Shinso {smirking weakly}: "Next time, try hitting me for real."
Izuku {grinning}: "Maybe I will."
The crowd continued to cheer as the two walked off the stage, Shinso's smugness now replaced by a begrudging respect.
