Today officially marked the start of the UA entrance exam. Over the few years that passed, you have been training nonstop for this special moment, pushing your mind and body past their limits. You were determined to pass the exam no matter what because if you failed, your chances of ever becoming a hero would be shattered.

The first part of the entrance exam was the written test. It was a breeze to get through and you were fairly confident you passed it. However, the next test wouldn't be so easy. It was called the practical test, the most crucial one out of the two.

To begin the practical test, you were first instructed to head to what appeared to be a theatre room where an instructor would go over the rules. You did as you were told and took a seat in the crowded room, waiting patiently for their arrival. You got lost in thought, your mind drowning out the loud chattering noise as you wondered what the test might be like. Just thinking about competing against the people surrounding you made your stomach tie in knots.

"No, I have to remain calm! I can't let myself lose control of my quirk...not again!"

You took a deep breath and wrapped your arms around yourself as a form of comfort. Because of how focused you were trying to relax and get your mind off of both the haunting past and formidable future, you didn't notice someone had sat beside you. They tapped your shoulder to get your attention, making you jolt out of your thoughts.

"Hey, there! You're nervous too, huh? I know it's scary, but don't worry! The practical tests will be over before you know it! I'm sure you'll do great!" the girl said with a friendly smile. As you turned to face her, you couldn't help but observe her unique, alien-like features. She had short, fluffy pink hair and pointy curled horns on the top of her head. Her skin was a light pink color, and her irises were gold sitting in the center of two black eyeballs.

"Uh, thanks! Who are you?" you asked meekly.

"Oh! I'm Mina Ashido! It's nice to meet you!"

"I'm (F/N) (L/N). It's nice to meet you too." You relaxed your shoulders that had been tensed up the entire time. Her bubbly attitude and positive, reassuring words seemed to put you at ease.

"That's a pretty name! Well, I wish you luck during the test! Let's do our best!" she said with enthusiasm as she held out her fist. You assumed she wanted you to give her a fist bump, so you balled your hand into a fist and gently tapped hers.

"I wish you the best of luck, too." you stated with a smile. After hearing her words, you were filled with determination greater than ever before. You were now calm and focused as the instructor walked up on the stage below, your attention fixating on him.

You learned his name was Present Mic who was both a pro hero and teacher at UA High. He went on to explain the rules and main objectives of the practical test. When he finished explaining everything and answering questions anyone might've had, everyone was instructed to head to a location called Battle Center B where the test would take place.

Once everyone had gathered at the starting line, the test began without a countdown or signal, catching you off-guard. Everyone began sprinting onto the battlefield, leaving you behind in the dust. With there being only a limited number of robots, already a good number of them were being destroyed right in front of your eyes. With only ten minutes to spare, time was of the essence.

You stood in place internally panicking, contemplating where you should start first. Any chance of success was already beginning to look grim. Your heart was pounding against your chest, your hands began to feel numb, and your vision was starting to fade. It felt as if you'd pass out at any moment.

"What are you doing?! Come on, move! If you don't, you'll fail!" you internally screamed. You slapped both sides of your face and snapped out of it. Clenching your fists you sprinted onto the battlefield. Using what energy you had stored; you used your quirk to move around at great speed in search of robots. More specifically the ones worth a lot of points.

From what you were instructed, depending on the difficulty level of the robot, each one had a different number of points. The biggest ones were worth zero points since it was considered an arena trap. The easiest ones to take down were worth one point, medium difficulty two points, and the most difficult to defeat were worth three points.

After some time passed, you managed to score a decent amount. You would've been celebrating internally if there wasn't a certain someone getting in your way and taking points. You didn't know his name, but the most notable feature about him besides his spiky blonde hair was his irritatingly impressive explosion quirk.

"Damn! He's quicker than me! If only I were a little faster, I could've gained more points. Whatever. I should have enough to pass, so it doesn't matter. Time should be getting close to running out by now."

Not long after you had finished collecting points, the ground beneath you began to shake. You looked up and saw in the distance a large robot, other known as an arena trap, approaching quickly. People from in front of you began running in the opposite direction, while others remained frozen in place, their eyes glued on something in front of them.

You come to realize they were looking at a brunette girl who was trapped under some debris and unable to move. Your eyes widened and you began to panic as the robot barreled through the battlefield. At that moment you knew if you didn't try to save her, she'd be crushed.

Before you were able to make a move, something made you halt. Your eyes landed on a green-haired boy. He was rushing toward the robot with a determined look on his face. Before your eyes, you watched as the boy jumped high in the air and punched it with all of his might. Your mouth hung open as you watched the robot tumble to the ground and explode. As the boy began to fall, the brunette girl had freed herself in the meantime and floated up to him using her quirk. She then proceeded to slap him, reducing his momentum so he'd land safely.

"Wow. He completely destroyed the robot even though it wasn't worth any points so he could save her. Amazing. He's got the heart of a true hero no doubt." You along with one other guy with glasses were the only two who truly recognized his heroism. You felt bad for the poor kid after discovering all his limbs except for one were broken. Fortunately, Recovery Girl, the nurse of UA, used her quirk to heal him.

"Time is up, everyone! The entrance exam is now officially over!" Present Mic announced.

When the entrance exam ended, you waited anxiously for the results. It wasn't until a week later that you received an envelope addressed to you from UA. It felt like your heart was going to burst out of your chest as you grabbed it from the mailbox. Your aunt sat down with you on the couch and patted the seat next to her, waiting in anticipation for you to rip it open.

With a deep breath, you sat beside her and reluctantly opened the envelope. A small device fell out onto the coffee table in front of you, revealing a hologram of All Might. He went on to explain there was a list of ten people who successfully passed the practical test. He cleared up any concern and declared Izuku Midoriya, the boy with the green hair, had placed seventh with zero villain points, and sixty rescue points!

"Huh? Rescue points? No one mentioned anything about that...maybe they wanted to keep it a secret to test whether or not we possessed the qualities of a true hero." You thought back on Midoriya's inspiring act of kindness during the test and smiled. If anyone was a true hero, you knew it had to be him. His selfless acts of heroism were motivational, to say the least, and highly respectable. He was exactly what you were inspired to be.

"Sweetie, did you see the list? You placed fifth! That means you passed!" your aunt exclaimed with excitement. You snapped out of your thoughts and looked over it again, realizing you had indeed ranked fifth place with a total of forty-eight villain points, and twenty rescue points. You were overjoyed and broke down into tears as she hugged you tight.

Now that you had been officially accepted into UA, you were over the moon. At the same time, there were butterflies in your stomach. It was hard to sleep that night as you tossed and turned, thinking about what the future had in store for you. Finally, you were taking the first few steps toward your dreams, and you couldn't have been happier.
