File #1109190124: Excerpt from the diary of Emma Bloom
It's been ages since I last wrote anything on this.
When you find this, I may have been long dead. Any story about me and my friends will probably become a forbidden topic, and eventually turn into fairytales nobody believes in. And I suggest you act the same. Tales of resistance never sit right with a world of oppression.
But that's not why I wrote this.
I wrote this because I want to leave something in this world for my friends. An evidence of their existence and all they have been through. Because, just like I am to you, they all have been long gone to me when I wrote this. And the world around me is trying its best to erase them from people's memories.
That's why I wrote this as I'm about to go on a mission that will surely cost me my life. I want to let the world know that we did exist and we had fought.
Remember us, remember those who gave their lives for the freedom of this world.
It won't be easy, because Caul won't want you to remember. The wights won't want you to remember. Even the world will try its hardest to tell you to forget.
But even if there's just one more person still remembers, hope can live on.
And maybe one day, some idiots will try to do what we did again, and again and again, until this world becomes a better place.
And maybe then, I can happily be forgotten.
