POV: 1st Person

Ciel's eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of annoyance passing across his face. "This isn't a game," he said, his voice edged with irritation. "Why are you here?"

I took a deep breath, choosing my words carefully. "I'm here to gather information and take down Theo's operation. Now tell me, why are you here, Ciel?"

Ciel's expression shifted to one of surprise, then quickly to contemplation. After a tense moment, he spoke. "I'm here for the same reason," he said, his voice measured. "Theo's operation has been expanding, and it's begun to affect more than just your ships. It's become a threat to larger interests that I'm obligated to protect."

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Larger interests?"

Ciel sighed, as if the weight of the situation bore heavily on him. "Let's just say I have my own responsibilities. But if we're both after Theo, we'll need to cooperate."

A moment of silence hung between us as the reality of our shared mission set in.

I studied him, searching for any hint of deception, but his face remained impassive. "Fine," I said finally. "But we need to work together. Theo is dangerous, and if we're not careful, we'll both end up in more trouble than we can handle."

Ciel nodded, his expression resolute. "Agreed. We need to be cautious and strategic. Theo's confidence is his weakness. He thinks he's untouchable. We need to exploit that."

"So what's the plan?" I asked, leaning in closer.

"We keep playing our parts," Ciel said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Get him to trust us. Find out where he's keeping the documents that prove his involvement in the laudanum trade. Without those, we have nothing."

"And you?" I asked.

"I'll continue to probe him, push him to reveal more. We need concrete evidence to bring him down."

For a moment, we stood in silence, the weight of our mission pressing heavily on both of us. Despite the urgency, there was a strange sense of camaraderie between us, a mutual understanding of the stakes.

"Be careful," Ciel said finally, his eyes locking onto mine. "He is more dangerous than you know."

We returned to the main room, slipping back into our respective roles seamlessly. The party continued around us, oblivious to the silent battle unfolding within its walls. As I approached Theo once more, I felt Ciel's presence beside me, a silent ally in our dangerous game.

Theo glanced up as we rejoined him, a smile spreading across his face. "Everything alright?" he asked, his eyes flicking between Ciel and me.

"Perfectly fine," I replied with a bright smile. "Just needed a moment to get acquainted."

Theo chuckled, seemingly satisfied. "Good, good. Now, where were we?"

Ciel took a seat beside me, his demeanor cool and composed. "We were discussing the potential for future collaborations," he said smoothly, his eyes flicking towards Theo.

"Ah, yes," Theo said, his attention returning to Ciel. "As I was saying, getting the laudanum onto the ships required some delicate maneuvering. But now that it's in place, the profits are rolling in. We just need to keep it under the radar."

I listened intently, my mind racing. This was our chance to gather the information we needed. I glanced at Ciel, who gave a barely perceptible nod, encouraging me to keep Theo talking.

"Impressive," I said, my tone laced with admiration. "But how do you ensure no one catches on? It must be a logistical nightmare."

Theo smirked, clearly enjoying the attention. "It's all about connections and keeping people happy. Grease the right palms, and everyone turns a blind eye."
