Lucas' POV

Later that night, I lie awake in my bed and stare up at the ceiling, my mind stuck on Xander.

He's so nice and sweet.

And cute.

Was I a horrible person for feeling this way about him? He is, after all, dating my best friend. And sure, she cheated on him, with his own best friend nonetheless, but it still doesn't feel right.

I felt guilty.

I never used to see him this way.

Before, he was simply Tori's boyfriend. And before that, he was just Penfield's bad boy.

But now...

Now he was this guy... this awesome, kind guy who seemed to captivate my interest.

I pull my phone into view, using my face to unlock it with Face I.D before clicking on the Instagram app.

I scrolled down my feed and found a picture that my mom had posted yesterday. It was one of us, taken when I was four or five? I can't remember my exact age. She had posted it yesterday, wishing me a happy birthday on social media rather than calling. She didn't tag me, of course. I told her that I didn't want her to tag me in her posts, because, on my last account, all of her annoying little followers started following me and messaging me nonstop. It was annoying. So, I deleted that account and made a new private one. I liked her photo and continued to scroll before clicking on the search bar.

I typed in Xander's name and clicked on the top profile that showed up in the results.

His profile picture was one of him and Tori.

Cute....

He only had a few pictures on his profile.

The most recent one was of him kissing Tori, with a cheesy caption that I assumed Tori had written. The next photo was of him shirtless, and surprise surprise, he was ripped. I found myself staring, like a creep.

Oh my god.

What am I doing?

Why am I being so weird and creepy? I felt like a stalker!

I move my thumb to try and swipe out of the picture, but, instead, I accidentally liked his picture.

The one of him shirtless...

Crap!

OH MY GOD!!

I just liked a shirtless picture of my best friend's boyfriend! Who I wasn't even following, mind you.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Shit.

What do I do?

What would happen if I unliked it real quick?

Would he still get the notification?

Or should I just block him?

Or maybe I could quickly change my username to something spammy and use a stock photo as my profile picture?

Yeah...

I looked down at my phone as a notification on Instagram came through.

Oh my goodness....

This is mortifying.

Now he knows I was stalking his Instagram page! And that I liked a picture of him shirtless!!!!!
