Xander's POV
I stared down at my red and slightly bloodied knuckles as I was seated in the principal's office, awaiting my judgement.
I was no stranger to being inside of the principal's office. Hell, I'm in here more than I am in classes, so of course the Principal was unsurprised at my presence.
"A three week suspension seems fair." The Principal said to me.
"Cool." I say, nonchalantly. "Can I go now?"
The principal shakes his head at me. "I know things can get hard at times, especially when you're a kid, but—"
"No offence, Sir, but I'm not really interested in getting advice from someone whose life goal was to become a high school principal." I don't know why I said that. Honestly, sometimes I can be a dick, a massive one.
It's a personality trait of mine.
"Is everything okay?" He asked, seeming worried.
"Yep." I feigned an assuring smile before rising from my chair and starting for the door.
"Stay out of trouble, would ya?" The Principal advised.
I walk out the door and start walking towards the nearest exit to the building. Suspension was hardly a rare occurrence for me. In fact, I liked to think of it as a little holiday away from school.
I came to a halt outside of the nurse's office. I felt the urge to apologise to Dane, despite the fact that he betrayed me. We were best friends, more than that, in fact, we were like brothers. Him, Lorenzo and I. But then I looked through the door's window and see her.
Tori was seated next to Dane, holding an ice pack to his bloodied face.
It infuriated me.
I never told anyone that I loved them before, besides my ma, obviously. And the first girl that I did say it to, cheated on me.
She ripped my fucking heart out.
I felt like a pathetic loser.
I glared at them before pulling myself away and storming towards the exit. I just needed to get out of this hellhole, and away from them.
Away from everyone...
And everything.
A text from Malcolm comes in through my phone as I walked towards my car in the parking lot, informing me that he wanted me to get him another car.
Fuck.
Lucas' POV
After school, I was headed home, my mind wondering about Xander when Paige and Ryland caught up to me. Why they wanted to be my friend, I had no clue.
I was a weirdo.
Pretty much an outcast.
"Wanna hang out?" Paige asks.
"Uh... sure." I answered, unsure. "May I ask...." I paused. "Why do you guys want to hang out with me?"
"Because you're cool." Ryland answered.
I wasn't cool. In fact, I was far from it.
"And us gays have to stick together." Paige put an arm around my shoulder. I should feel uncomfortable, but I felt the opposite, oddly enough.
"So... have you hooked up with any guys yet?" Asked Ryland, clearly only interested in gossip.
"Hmm, not really." I respond.
"Oh, come on... we won't tell a soul." Paige said.
"For instance, I've hooked up with three guys at our school." Ryland says, causing me to give him a weird look.
