"Uhm, what is this? A fucking dinner party?"
Enji snorted at Hawks language, and gave the blonde a quick pat to the head before he could swat him away. "No, no. Mira is an old friend. She just loves to entertain, and has the space for it-" He gestured around at the garden, and beautiful back yard. "This is a beneficiary event to raise money for the victims."
So a bunch of rich people trying to make themselves feel better. Got it. Hawks assumed like 30% of the auctions would go to the actual fundraiser, and the other 70% was distributed to workers and other affiliates. There had already been plenty of heroes and others he recognized. None were of the most savory type either. A couple he could tell were genuinely there to try and raise awareness, and money, but the majority just wanted an open bar.
Just like Endeavor.
The man approached, and ordered two whiskey sours. Hawks didn't want to drink, but wasn't going to object. That fear of disappointment lingered. As his golden eyes glazed over the crowd, he felt a little underdressed. Enji had said casual-formal, so Hawks went pretty simple; maroon button up, black jeans, and black shoes. He could have at least told the man to wear a jacket! Enji even had a damn tie.
But Enji knew Hawks could rely solely on his looks here, not having to worry about dressing to fancy. Others around the two were in formal gowns and full tuxedos. It was a little cringe worthy.
"Here." Enji passed Hawks the drink, and turned to face the crowd as he sipped his own. "Ahh, there she is."
Mira Ahane.
Hawks first love's, Mother. A raging bitch of a woman. She had cherry red hair, that was greying at the roots. That color trailed through, leaving silver streaks. Cold, grey eyes were trying to seem lighthearted and friendly. A pointless attempt, really. Hawks knew what kind of woman she was. "Cool. I'm going to go explore while you catch up." To Enji's surprise, Hawks downed the double shot in one go. "Can I get one more?" He asked the bartender, taking a peak towards the interesting looking garden.
"Alright, I'll catch you in a bit then." Endeavor let the man have his space. He would need it once this place got a bit more crowded, and that drink hit him.
Hawks took his second drink, liking the buzz an empty stomach gave him. He trotted away from the crowd, now taking a few light sips. Finally, he could take his phone out and be alone. People were gravitating towards the lights and chatter. A huge, blown up headshot of Emi, her daughter, was surrounded by flowers and the fundraisers name. A hollow gesture, from a hollow woman.
Surprisingly, Emi didn't look anything like her sister. In fact, she was almost a carbon copy of her mother at a younger age. The only differing feature was her bright, brown eyes. They probably shimmered gold, like Hawks when people saw them in person. In the picture, the only resemblance he could see from his ex was the stoic frown. Neither smiled.
Hawks caught himself missing what wouldn't be, and needed to distract from that. There were plenty of text from you he could respond to finally.
Lil Sparrow

I wish you were here
I'm at a party with a bunch of losersHawks decided to turn away from the crowd, and snap a quick selfie. His tongue was out, and he was giving you the goofiest look he could. It was a high contrast to some of the women and men in formal fits behind him. His drink was also raised, signaling how the man was feeling.
