1866 - New OrleansThe next few months consisted of wedding planning, wedding planning and wedding planning. They had decided to have it as soon as possible as Victoria felt like it wasn't something she wanted to wait for. Rebekah and her had planned the most beautiful wedding and the day was finally arriving soon. She was excited, she realised, genuinely excited. At first, she questioned whether she had made the right choice, especially with Klaus avoiding her completely, but as she prepared for everything, spending more time with James, she grew to look forward to her life, she grew to love James.
The wedding was tomorrow and although she had a few nerves, Rebekah was there for her. They had just returned to the compound after spending the night in the church setting up last minute decorations, or rather watching people set them up. Rebekah was a bit of a control freak and liked everything a certain way. She had just finished ticking off her checklist. "There, perfect. Tomorrow will be spectacular. Are you ready?"
"Yes, mostly." Victoria sighed.
"What's there to be worried about?"
She was hesitant to say. All things considered this sounded almost silly, but she was nervous for it.
"You know you can tell me anything, Victoria."
"I, um.... i'm nervous. About the wedding night."
"What about it?"
"I've never been..." she struggled to find the words, "intimate, with someone like that before." She said with a meaningful look. Although sex before marriage was not much of a big deal in New Orleans, especially not to vampires, she had been raised in Mystic Falls and never dared to experiment with anyone in fear of her father finding out. It wasn't like there was much choice there either.
"Oh."
"Does it hurt? Does it feel weird?"She knew Rebekah had experience and she was in desperate need of girl talk right now.
"Your first time, is not supposed to be painful, though it can hurt a little at the start. And it may feel weird at the beginning but if James knows what he's doing then it will be pleasurable I assure you."
"But what if it's not pleasurable for him? I know he's been with other women, what if I don't compare?"
"Darling, men find pleasure in everything, you need not worry about that. Besides, when love, when true feelings are involved, it makes it all the more better. You have something with James, that is all the reassurance you need. Nobody else would ever be able to compare to you." Rebekah replied as she held her hand. And Victoria was truly grateful for her advice. "And if you ever need a few tricks, I'm your girl." She winked and they both laughed at that.
Night had approached and Victoria found herself tossing and turning in bed. It seems like her mind had completely focused on the wedding night only, choosing to block everything out and it caused a lot of pressure on her. Which led her here, to James' door. As she knocked she realised she had no clue what she was actually going to do, but she felt like she just needed to get it over with now, so tomorrow would be perfect, as she'd have some clue on what to do. She didn't like being in the not knowing, she liked being the best at everything.
He answered the door, eyes sleepy. "Victoria? I thought we weren't supposed to see each other the night before the wedding." She immediately felt guilty, she had awoken him because her own thoughts failed to let her rest. "Oh, I'm sorry, I completely forgot about that and I didn't even realise you might be sleeping. I'll just go."
"No, no. Come in, is everything okay?" He had his hand on her back as he led her to the couch. "Can i get you something to drink or eat?"
