Maddy's Pov:
"Should we wake her up?"
"She's been asleep for three hours, she's probably hungry."
"Are you-she's ASLEEP! She can't feel hungry if she's freaking sleeping!"
"Then how come I do? How come my dreams are always about food, and I very much feel hungry?"
"That's because you're-"
"Watch it!"
"You're so stupid. Go get Quinn, maybe he can wake her."
Another minute goes by as they argue. I slowly open my eyes to see Jack slap the back of Luke's head, whispering angrily to him. Truthfully, I've been awake for at least twenty minutes now. I'm just tired and putting off seeing Quinn.
"Hi?" I finally decide to intervene. They look like they're about to grab each other's necks. Both boys snap their heads in my direction, eyes widening.
"Hey! You're awake!"
"Last I checked, yes, I am," I reply with a light chuckle.
"We were just wondering if you're hungry. Name it, and we'll order it," Jack says, and Luke nods along.
"No, no, no. I'm not choosing," I say firmly. I'm so indecisive it's actually going to be my downfall.
Jack pouts, and Luke adds, "Well, you're the guest, so you pick. What are you craving? Come on, girls are always having cravings."
I purse my lips before replying, "That's incredibly stereotypical. Anyone can have cravings, not just girls." I narrow my eyes at them. I'm only half kidding, but I know they have good intentions, that doesn't mean I'm not going to correct them though.
"Luke!" Jack exclaims, slapping the back of his head.
"Ignore what he's saying. You know how kids are-young and dumb-"
"Hey! I'm literally two years younger than you-barely!" Jack glares at Luke, causing him to bite his tongue and shut up.
"As I was saying, we just want you to choose because you're our guest. No sexist nonsense that Luke's on about."
I stare between the two of them for a moment before bursting out in giggles. Idiots, both of them.
"Chinese," I say with a grin. The boys shake their heads and mumble an 'okay' before leaving.
Once they're gone, I finally let out a sigh. It feels like just a minute ago Quinn and I were sitting inches apart, face to face. Although in reality, it's been a couple of hours. I wonder if he also took a nap. He must be tired too. What am I even saying? That's not important right now. What really matters is the fact that we almost kissed. Almost. That should scare me, worry me-anything but excite me. So then, why am I upset that we didn't actually make contact? Get it together Maddy. He's a friend, your friend. I stare into nothing and then, without warning, grab the pillow and scream into it. I'm going to lose my mind.
