A short ring disturbed the silence in the library, when Ezra's commlink went off. She rolled her eyes a little, wondering who's needing her now.

It was only a few hours since she and her fellow Jedi, Anakin and Obi-Wan, got back from Ansion from some border dispute, and she really wished to have some calm after that, but apparently, she can't. So, with a deep sigh she answered.

"Ezra receiving, what's the matter?" she asked the caller, annoyance lacing her tone.

"Stop the fuss Ezra and hurry to the Temple entrance." the caller answered, it's voice belonging to her supervisor, Master Obi-Wan. Even though he is trying his best at hiding it, Ezra was still able to catch the slight nuisance from his voice, but paid it no attention.

"Another mission?" she asked to confirm her concerns. She liked going on missions, don't get her wrong, but when they became too frequent, she felt very exhausted and started to make stupid mistakes, and she highly disliked that.

"I know, I'm not very happy about it either, but I promise it won't be as tiring as the other ones. I actually think you'll enjoy this one." he said, then he prompted her to hurry again and hung up.

'A bold claim.' thought Ezra, before getting up, putting the holopad she was reading back in its place and headed to the main entrance of the Temple.

She wasn't sure what to expect, he didn't really give her much info, other than that she'll enjoy it, but she could already cross out a rescue mission. Obi-Wan, and really everybody else knew she hated those, and she didn't think Obi-Wan was in the mood for sarcasm right now, so if it wasn't that, she didn't mind it as much.

When she got there, Obi-Wan and Anakin were already there, waiting beside a speeder. As they saw her approach them, Anakin waved her over with a big smile on his face and they climbed in the vehicle.

At this point, Ezra grew more suspicious. Anakin was usually the one most annoyed with missions, but now he was smiling ear to ear, and his Force signature was shining with excitement. That was odd.

So, when the speeder started, she turned to them and asked: "So, what kind of mission is this anyway?" she raised her eyebrow and her eyes shot between the two older men.

"Remember when I told you about how I met the Queen on Naboo on Tatooine and then saved her planet from the Separatist blockade?" Anakin hinted, but Ezra became even more confused than before. She nodded her head slightly and let his continue his explanation.

"We were assigned to protect Senator Amidala." Obi-Wan jumped right to the point of Anakin's long story, before he could continue it. Anakin eyed him a little while crossing his arms, Ezra still looked at him with one raised eyebrow and now let her mind run out loud.

"Why? For how long?" she asked the both of them, but directed it more to Obi-Wan, since he wouldn't interlace it with useless fun facts about his life story. Not that she didn't care about him, but she heard it a thousand times already, and now she wanted answers, not a story time.

"There was an assassination attempt on the senator's life, and the Chancellor with the Council are worried about her being on Coruscant, but she is stubborn and won't return on Naboo, before she sets things right, so in the meantime, we're to protect her from any other attempts." Obi-Wan explained briefly.

"Oh... And you think there will be more?" she asked, many thoughts running through her head, choosing not to voice them all out, to not sound rude.

"We're not sure, but right now, we cannot leave her unprotected." he answered honestly, rubbing his hang across his beard, surely deep in thought, so Ezra just nodded her head and kept her opinions to herself.
