I bid goodbye to the girls and go towards the stalls where Jack is. Together, we stay behind for the ending ceremony and watch as Bentley proudly collects his winning trophy and his prize money.

The incident with the cops is being talked about everywhere, and I doubt anyone cares too much about the race anymore.

This is what we wanted. To blow this up so everyone would know what they did.

After snapping quick pictures, Bentley comes over to us with his trophy and prizes in hand. He hands them over to Pug, who's standing next to us.

"Get these back to the house for me."

Pug nods. "Good job out there, man. You did great."

Bentley smiles. "Of course. They don't call me the riding devil for no reason."

"No one calls you that," Jack snorts.

"Don't sully my mood, brother. Where's Cash? He has everything ready?"

They share a knowing look.

Jack smirks and tilts his head back in the house's direction. "We've got to change first. We can't miss the show."

"Good. Let's go." He comes to grab my waist and pulls me into him. He leans down to place a kiss on my forehead and murmurs. "How'd I do?"

I grin. "Fantastic. I prepared a prize for you."

"Oh? When can I see it?"

I shoot him a suggestive glance and bite my lips. "Tonight... when we're alone."

His eyes light up and he smiles. "I like the sound of that."

I giggle. "You better. I went through hell preparing it with the girls."

"C'mon, you two. Please, give me a break." Jack wrinkles his nose in disgust.

Bentley scuffs. "You and Jenny were much worse."

"Better us than you."

"Selfish bastard. Let's go." He grabs my hand and starts walking off.

We go back to the house to quickly change into more conservative clothing. Then an hour later, when the sun sets, we meet up with Jack and Cash. Bentley drives us into town.

I look out in surprise at all the people marching in the streets. We pass a few homes that have been egged and covered in toilet paper, and I can hear the uproar as the townsfolk gather to scream their lungs out at each household they're targeting.

"What..." I can't contain my disbelief as I stare at the chaos with wide eyes. This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this.

Jack smirks proudly. "We may have our differences, but we come together when someone threatens our town. After hearing about the crimes committed by the Beauregards, the people are shunning anyone associated with them. Before the night is over, every person with the surname Beauregard will get run out of town."

Cash leans back in his seat and cackles. "It's about damn time."

"What about the mayor?" I ask.

Bentley glances back in the rearview mirror and answers. "He'll get deposed and convicted for the crime. Jason's father may be dead, but the mayor's his brother. The cops raided their houses already, and we've found even more evidence to prosecute them."

"And Jason?"

He frowns. "Jason hasn't committed any crimes. They'll let him go by the morning. The fact that he was young back then is enough to prove he's innocent. I wish we had something else solid to use against the bastard."
