Chapter Two: Secrets

Little 6-year-old Holly ran past all the smart people in white coats, trying to see the commotion. "What's going on?!" She asked Mr. Wu. He didn't respond, his eyes wide and full of shock, Holly followed his gaze to the Indominus Rexes enclosure, a splatter of blood next to a body that looked identical to Little Birdie. Her sibling. Holly gasped and ran towards the enclosure. Mr. Wu tried to grab her, but she ran quite fast. She opened the door to the balcony, she saw Little Birdies head resting on top of its sibling's open chest, still filled with injections. It didn't kill it's sibling to eat it, it killed it to end its misery. But of course no one else thought that, everyone thought that it was a blood-thirsty monster. That day, Holly made a promise that she knew would be impossible to keep, she promised that whether she was involved or not, that the Indominus Rex would be free.

Holly couldn't stand by and watch anymore, she jumped onto the pipe Darius kicked and slid down into the raptor pen, running in front of Darius so he could come up with something. If he could come up with something right about now that would be nice. "It's ok." Darius reassured a whimpering Kenji. "We're all okay." He said, more to himself as the raptors snarled at him. Holly put her hand out like Owen did when he was training them. "Back!" She said, stepping forward with firmness, it only worked for a bit. "Darius!" She whisper-yelled. "A plan would be really good right now!" Darius turned to Kenji. "Kenji, those bones." He pointed downwards to the bones underneath him. "Check for a raptor skull." Kenji looked confused. "What?!" Darius panicked. "In the video game I"- Holly cut him off, "You wanna talk about video games now?!" Blue screeched so loud that Holly got startled and fell, Blue and her pack inching closer to her. Hollie scurried to the gate where Kenji and Darius were. Kenji continuously screaming and the raptors getting closer to us.

Suddenly, all the lights around the raptor pen turned on, momentarily blinding the raptors. They heard Roxie's voice. "Come and get it!" She yelled to the raptors, throwing meat down. All the raptors but Blue went for the meat, Blue still growling and snapping at the three. "Get out of there!" Roxie yelled. And just as Blue lunged for them, Dave pulled them back as the gate for the raptors closed.

A camp vehicle pulled up, with security guards running out, yelling to secure the paddock. Darius looked at Dave, "Dave that was- Thank you so much." Dave replied. "Oh, that's standard procedure Darius." He said cooly, then started gagging, "I do that kind of stuff all the time." He turned to the bushes. "Give me a second." He retched and vomited into the bush. Holly, Darius, and Kenji were grossed out. "That's, better." Roxie ran up to him and held his face. "Are you hurt?" She turned to the teens, "are you all alright?" Kenji walked away but Roxie grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back harshly. "Where do you think you're going?! You, Darius, and Holly are in big trouble."

Holly sat in silence as she listened to Darius and Kenji argue, she knew she did nothing wrong, so she knew there was no point in arguing. "We gave Brooklynn a warning for sneaking out" Said Dave as he and Roxie walked in. "But what you three chuckleheads did." "Especially you, Kenji!" Roxie said. "Your recklessness put yours, Darius', Holly's and Dave's lives in danger! We should call your parents"- Darius cut her off. "It was my fault! I jumped into the pit! Kenji and Holly were, trying to save me." He said, pained. Kenji smirked and slid over to Darius, putting his arm over his shoulder. "Yeah, that's it, we were saving the- poor, confused little kid." Holly rolled her eyes. Roxie looked confused. "I'm sorry, so Darius the dino-genius was saved by Kenji who thinks the dinosaurs went extinct because, and I quote, 'Their Farts Turned The Air Trashy'?" "Prove me wrong, yo" Kenji whispered. "I understand Holly coming to save you-but why were you there in the first place Holly?" Roxie asked. Holly sighed. "I overheard their plan of sneaking out and I saw them heading towards the raptor pen and wanted to help them." Kenji continued. "What's important, is that I'll keep looking out for the kid, here. You're welcome." Roxie glared at him. "No harm no foul." Said Dave. "Let's chalk the whole thing up to experience. Lessons, friendships, this is what camps about! Who's with me?" "Fine." Roxie agreed. "But one more misstep."
