CHAPTER 5

"Ok girls, your all set" Coach Lillian said to the sweaty girls. Tegan had just finished her second official dance practice. They reviewed how they performed at halftime at their past game then went over some changes, and ran it multiple times. Tegan and her teammates have been home at campus for not even 24 hours and coach already wanted to set a practice.

Tegan was exhausted from the flight home, but she managed to struggle through practice. She grabbed her duffel bag and headed straight through the double doors. "Hey stranger!" Paige said pulling Tegan aside from the rest of her team that were walking to their cars. "Hey! Watcha' doin' here?" "Ah coach wanted to talk to me and I heard you had practice so I thought I'd wait for you and we could drive and grab something to eat?" Paige asked, grabbing Tegans bag from her hands.

Tegan followed her to her car. Paige opened the passenger side for her and ran around to get in the drivers side. She handed Tegan the aux cord and Tegan shuffled her new obsession, Zach Bryan. "So what are you in the mood for?" Paige asked at a red light, putting her eyes on Tegans. "You pick!" Tegan said, holding Paige's hand and squeezing it tight.

The two talked about practice and what not till they pulled into a Dairy Queen. Paige pulled into the drive through "you like DQ?" She asked Tegan "who doesn't!" Tegan said excited that she picked this place. This was Tegans go to spot, she loved their ice cream "this is my favorite!" Paige smiled "I'm glad"

They pulled up to the window after ordering, Paige payed, but had to fight Tegan to put her wallet away. Paige drove off to a lighthouse. They parked and watched the waves crash against the rocks and ate their ice cream in silence. "So why haven't you tried to kiss me since the game?" Tegan asked finishing up her ice cream. "Do you feel all guilty now that you know about my ex?" "No! I mean yes, but no!" Paige stuttered, Tegan laughed, she was just joking but she Paige thought she was serious "relax I'm joking!" Tegan chucked "jokes are supposed to be funny, that wasn't funny" Paige sassed "and I haven't kissed you yet because truth is that's not the real me. The mysterious sex toy. Nah I am a hard core softie, I just am so starstruck by you that I thought you would like that stuff but i learned you obviously don't so I'm showing you my real side." "Well I do like to have sex, but with the right person, at the right time, and not all the time. But I love this side of you." Tegan said putting her hand on Paige's cheek, earning a blushing Paige.

Tegan gave Paige a quick kiss, pulling away to see Paige with a big smile.  They drove back to the campus since Paige had a class in 20 minutes. Tegan went back to her dorm and decided to crush some of her homework. "Hey Az" Tegan said as Azzi wrapped her arms around the back of Tegans neck. "Watcha doin?" She asked Tegan.

Tegan got up and led her to the kitchen "well I was doing my homework but now that your heree..." "girl! You gotta do your homework, but after do you wanna come with me and Caroline to go shopping?" "Duh! Homework can wait let's go!" Tegan said dragging Azzi out of their dorm. They hoped in the car and Caroline drove them to the nearest shopping mall.

"Can we go into American eagle?" Caroline asked the two "sure!" Azzi replied. "So Tegan, are you gonna tell your two besties what's going on with you and Paigey?" Azzi said wrapping her arms around Caroline and Tegans shoulders. Tegan laughed "well I will admit she's a softie" "really?! Does that mean you have a crush on her?" Caroline asked "cause it would be a shame if you didn't, Paige doesn't shut up about you!" Azzi says as they walk around the mall. Tegans mind immediately goes to what she told Paige last night, Macie and their relationship. "Wh-what did she tell you?" "All good things, obviously" "ya but like any, you know, details?" Tegan said trying to word it, but not wanting to sound suspicious. "No, why do you have to tell us something?!" Azzi asked excitedly "no no! It's chill we're chill!"

"That's not awnsering our question, do you have a crush on her?" Tegan hasn't really thought about that, of course she liked Paige as a person but as a crush, well obviously she did! "Ya I guess I do, I have a crush on Paige" Tegan admitted, screaming Caroline and Azzi cheered as they entered American eagle.

"Hey, where are you?" Paige said on the phone, Tegan put her on speaker and Azzi and Caroline said hi. Paiges voice changed, it became less enthusiastic then it was before she knew Tegan was not alone. Was Paige jealous? "We're at the mall, where are you?" Tegan replied as she was still on speaker.

The three girls were sitting in the food court, they were waiting for their order to be called from Panera. "I just got out of my algebra class, and I'm bored" "smartie pants, come meet us!" Azzi said. Paige instantly said yes and hung up. A couple minutes later she was at the mall. "Hi!" "Hey guys" they all greeted each other. "How was class? Did you see that hot professor?" Azzi asked as she finished up her lunch "no, and he's not hot what so ever!" "You're just saying that cause you don't like men!" Azzi defended "no that's not true and also he's like fifty, ew no" Paige argued with Azzi as Caroline and Tegan laughed.

"So what are you guys wearing for CBD night?" Caroline asked. Shoot! Tegan had totally forgot about CBD night. CBD night was a night hosted for the UCONN basketball team and dance team, C for Connecticut B for basketball and D for dance. It was basically a celebration for the teams and was a night of dancing, food, and speeches. "Shoot! Can we please go to Windsor? I need a dress for CBD!" Azzi said "ya me too! What are you wearing Caroline?" Tegan asked. "I don't know yet, I was going to plan off of what you guys were wearing." We all looked at Paige, waiting for her to tell us what she was planning on wearing. Paige shrugged "probably will throw something together the night of" Paige said.

Paige didn't care about fashion or makeup. Way more of a tomboy so Azzi and Caroline  was surprised when she actually showed up to the mall, she hated shopping. But they both knew she was where because Tegan was here, and Paige would never miss an opportunity to be around Tegan.

The girls headed into Windsor and looked around. "Ok so I know Aubrey is wearing a black blazer look and Ines is doing a red silk dress." Azzi said looking through the dresses. "Ya and also Ice is doing like a black corset dress, Jana is doing a red dress, aaliyah is between a brown and a white dress, and Ashlynn is doing a green dress." Caroline said picking up a navy blue long silk dress "omg yes Caroline if you don't wear that momma will be mad! That would look stunning on you" Tegan said with her jaw dropped as Caroline held the dress up to her. "Haha I will try it on"

About 20 minutes later the girls have at least 5 dresses each to try on. Paige sat outside the dressing room doors, waiting for the 'fashion show' that was about to go on. All three girls exited the door at the same time. Azzi had a white, basic, long, dress on, Caroline had the stunning blue one on and Tegan had a light pink, v neck, silky long dress on that had a slit that ended near her thigh. Paige looked like a dear in headlights as she stared at Tegan.

"Paige!" Azzi clapped "hello we're here too!" Azzi said, Paige looked at Azzi nd Caroline then back at Tegan. "Thoughts?" Caroline asked "ok Azzi, hell no that dress undresses you, your way to pretty for that dress. It's also not a good color it's like a cream white so no. Caroline yes, and Tegan hell yes! Teags this dress is the one, it's made for your body, and that color" Paige stands there speechless.

"Haha ok, Azzi, P is right, you could do better, and Caroline you have to wear that you look like a goddess!" Tegan said standing next to Paige. "You look like a goddess" Paige whispered for only Tegan to hear. Tegan blushed "ok so no with this dress but Tegan yes a thousand times, litterlay you look like you came out of a fairy tale, and Caroline I love that but I really liked the purple one you picked." Azzi said "ok sounds good, Az I like it but it's just not for you, and Tegan yes yes yes" Caroline said. With all the girls feedback they got changed into their second dresses. They all shared feedback and kept doing it till they landed on the perfect dress. Tegan ended up getting the pink one. CBD was next week and Tegan now couldn't wait.
