Miranda woke up and stretched, her legs were sore as hell but she felt a sense of peace and calm come over her. She had been thoroughly fucked and made love to that she wasn't sure if her legs would even work.

For the next couple of rounds, they took it slow, reconnecting and retracing everything that they'd missed.

What she didn't expect when she opened her eyes was to be greeted with a room full of candles and roses. She sat up with a smile and wrapped the sheets around her naked frame.

"Benjamin," Miranda called out and then smiled when he entered the room with a tray of food. Ben sat the food on the bed and Miranda looked down at everything.

He handed her a small card, his hand slightly trembling. "Read this," he whispered, his voice filled with anticipation.

Miranda opened the card, her breath catching as she read the words inside: "Will you marry me?"

Her eyes shot up to Ben, who was already getting down on one knee beside the bed, holding the huge ring.

Miranda felt for her necklace and smiled when she realized he had taken it off. "I love you, Miranda Bailey. You came into my life when I was surrounded by darkness and you brought in so much light. I know what I did was wrong but you were right. Your love and being with you is right. Our family is right and I want that now and forever. I know I'm not a perfect man and I have many flaws but I want to spend the rest of my life with you, making you happy, protecting you, and loving you with all that I am."

"Of course, I will marry you." Miranda cried.

"Can you move this?" She asked gesturing to the tray.

Ben smiled and moved it onto the nightstand. Miranda extended her hand and cheesed up at Ben when he slid the ring onto her finger.

She cupped his face and pulled him into a big kiss pulling him on top of her. "What about the food?" Ben asked against her lips.

"That can wait. I just got engaged," she laughed kissing him again.

Miranda looked at Ben's back as he laid on his stomach asleep. Her fingers began gently tracing the intricate lines of his new tattoo. It was actually a stunning phoenix with wings spread wide.  The artist did a good job covering up the kill count on his back. She hoped that he gave the person a good tip because they were able to capture the essence of rebirth and transformation. She marveled at the symbolism, knowing how much it represented Ben's journey.

"Ben," she whispered, her voice filled with admiration, "I love this tattoo. It's beautiful and sexy. It really suits you."

"Thank you," he voiced sleepily.

Miranda kissed his back and snuggled into him.

The two slept for hours before waking up. Ben pulled Miranda into his arms and kissed the back of her head.

"Um, I know we discussed being together quickly but were you planning to move to Seattle with me?" Miranda asked rubbing his arm.

"I kinda thought you would want to move back here,"

Miranda frowned before speaking, "Ben I-

"I'm just joking Miranda of course I'm moving with you. I would like to be close to my dad and brother and I wouldn't ask you to give up the life you discovered once again."

"Thank you," Miranda smiled turning in his arms to look at him. "The two houses...what do you plan to do with them?"

"I wanted to fix the few projects and rent it out but I'm never going to be here to maintain the maintenance and I don't really want to sell the first home we lived in...I don't know I might ask Bria to be the landlord and we split the rental profit. She's gonna need extra income once the baby comes and she's on maternity leave, so I'll let her stay in the other house if she helps out at this one."
