The practice session continued, the sound of sneakers squeaking on the court and the rhythmic thud of the basketball echoing in the gym.

Aya watched Mav.

Aya then remembered that this wasn't the first time they met each other.

Mav's eyes met Aya's across the court, and for a moment, the world seemed to fade away.

A small, tentative smile tugged at Mav's lips, and Aya felt her heart skip a beat.

It was a start, a small step towards healing the rift that had grown between them.

As the practice session came to an end, Mav walked over to Aya, her eyes filled with a mixture of hope and uncertainty. "Thank you for staying," she said softly, her voice trembling with emotion.

Aya smiled, her eyes bright with warmth and understanding. "Anytime," she said gently. "I'm always here for you, Mav. No matter what."

Mav's eyes filled with tears, and she nodded, her heart swelling with a renewed sense of hope and gratitude. "I know," she said softly, her voice filled with a quiet strength. "I know."

As the sun set, casting a warm glow over the court, Aya and Mav stood side by side, a sense of peace and understanding settling between them.

The past weeks had been a trial, a test of their strength and resilience, but they had come through it together, stronger and more determined than ever.

The quiet hum of the dorm filled the air as Aya and Mav walked back together, their steps in sync, their hearts light.

Mav glanced over at Aya, a small smile playing on her lips. "Gutom ka na ba?" she asked, her voice gentle.

Aya nodded eagerly, her stomach rumbling in agreement. "Yeah, I could eat," she replied with a playful grin.

Mav chuckled softly, starting to head towards the dorm kitchen.

Before she could take more than a few steps, Aya reached out and gently caught her arm, stopping her in her tracks.

Mav turned back to Aya, a curious look on her face. "Oh, bakit?" she asked, a hint of confusion in her voice.

Aya looked at Mav with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Remember that time you burned down the kitchen?" she asked, a teasing smile dancing on her lips.

Mav rolled her eyes playfully. "Correction, it was "almost" burned down, hindi naman totally nasunog," she replied with a smirk.

"And who saved the day with Mr. Fire Extinguisher?" Aya shot back, her tone light and teasing.

Mav chuckled, shaking her head in amusement. "Okay, okay, you did," she admitted, unable to suppress a grin. "But let's not forget the last time you cooked. You made me eat vegetables, and you know I don't even like vegetables."

Aya laughed, raising her hands in mock surrender. "You're so dramatic when you're with me," she teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "But admit it, it's good for you."

Mav shook her head with a playful sigh. "Except for that Kare-Kare incident with bagoong," she retorted, making a face. "You almost made me choke, eh I'm allergic to bagoong."

Aya winced apologetically. "Oops, my bad, hindi ko naman kasi alam," she said sheepishly. "Okay, let's call a truce. How about we cook together instead?"

Mav hesitated for a moment, a flicker of something crossing her features before she composed herself. "Sure, why not," she agreed, a smile tugging at her lips. "Let's see what we've got in the fridge."

The two of them made their way to the dorm kitchen, their banter light and easy.

They opened the fridge together and inspected the ingredients available.

To their delight, they found everything they needed to make adobo.

One of their favorite dishes.

"Adobo it is," Mav declared, a grin spreading across her face as she gathered the ingredients.

Aya nodded enthusiastically, rolling up her sleeves in readiness.
