Chapter 71 - Before The Storm

After leaving Ren Shoushan so abruptly like before, who would have expected that Ren Zhengsheng choose to take Jin Qiu for a ride on the small boat around the river. And because Ren Zhengsheng has already told Luo Hai about this beforehand, no one allowed to come close to the river for the time being. "It's so quiet here. The winds feel nice as well. Do you often go for this kind of ride?" Jin Qiu asked the strangely quiet Ren Zhengsheng.

"Not really. This is my first time trying this. I thought maybe you would like to ride on a boat like this."

"Not wrong. Thank you for thinking about it." Jin Qiu smiled.

But once again, the two went quiet. Usually, Ren Zhengsheng will try to say anything, or do something. But now, the man is really quiet. He just rowing the small boat quietly and looking around the beautiful view by the side of the river.

Jin Qiu doesn't know why the man became so quiet, but he remember what happen before they went on a ride. "Are you still angry about Shoushan?"

"What makes you think that I'm angry because of Shoushan?"

"Because usually, you will hug me or kiss me whenever you see me."

Ren Zhengsheng look surprised, but the man then smiled. He didn't deny the fact that he's always kissing and hugging Jin Qiu. Ever since the beginning. The more Jin Qiu resist him, the more he will want to touch the man.

"I'm angry about him, but that's not the main reason." Ren Zhengsheng admitted. "I was thinking that I'm really a fool. All this time, I'm just used by Mao Xiaodan, for his own desire."

"Do you regret it?"

"I'm angry, but I didn't regret my choice to follow what he said. Since that's what made me stronger and made me stood where I am."

Jin Qiu move over and sit beside the Emperor. Good thing the boat doesn't lose its balance.

He hugged the man. "I didn't regret it. If I didn't come to this world and didn't meet you, then I would never feel this happiness. I would never understand what love mean and how it would feel. Not only that, you made me experience something out of ordinary. Pregnancy. I'm scared, angry, happy. All of those feelings became one. That's why I will need someone else to help me handle those feelings."

"I'm really afraid, you know." Ren Zhengsheng leaned his head down on Jin Qiu's shoulder. "I'm afraid that you would disappear."

"I know..."

Unexpectedly, having Jin Qiu patting his back like that can make Ren Zhengsheng feels really calm. He himself would never expect that there would come a day like this.

"I'm not going anywhere. I will accompany and I will continue to do so even when you're bored of me." Jin Qiu said as he moved back from the Emperor. He placed his hands on Ren Zhengsheng's cheeks. "So smile, my Emperor."

But instead of smiling, Ren Zhengsheng reached for Jin Qiu's neck and pulled the man for a kiss.

The soft kiss intensifies until Ren Zhengsheng stop to take a breath. But that wasn't enough. Ren Zhengsheng pulled Jin Qiu to sit on his lap and kissed the man again.

When they took another breath, Jin Qiu whispered. "I love you. I love that you love me back. I even love the fact that you're so awkward about your own feeling."

"You're really something, Qiu er... In my whole life, you're the only one who can make me scared like this. It feels like I'm being choked by a snake. And everytime I feel that, I just want to lock you up inside the palace."

"Wait, wait. Stop right there. I would never want to get locked up in the palace. Don't make me want to run away from you."

"You want to run away from me?"
