The Will To Protect

 Mara's P.O.V

    Erza stares at me wide eyed, becoming visibly upset as she recoils back. I didn't even have to tell her what would likely happen to me and she already knew what I was planning on doing and the price I was willing to pay. 

"No! Not happening! You can't possibly face them all by yourself! If you want to get rid of these things then-... We do it together!" I snapped my gaze to her in surprise but her words invoke a smile from me. I nod into it.

"You know what, that sounds like a dandy idea." We nod to each other.

"We share the burden. Deal? You get some, I get some, that way we can spare some of our magical energy at least. However, we are still gonna need some help. Help from the guild... The whole guild must help."

"How?" I wonder, also curious what she had in mind. I turned my head back to the spheres, waiting for Erza's next move. How could the guild possibly help us.? Erza knows what she's doing so I'll just let her do her thing. That's the thing about Erza, she's so powerful, you never really have to worry about her. She's a great warrior... That much I'm sure of.

"I call upon the power that lies within my swords.. Give us strength, help me protect my dear city." She cites. I cock my head as I turn to her in wonder.

'My comrades in Fairy Tail, please lend Mara and I your strength as well.' My eyes boggled as I gawked at Erza. Was that Erza? Must be a try trick or something. I half joked with myself.

"Now what?" She smiled and nods to herself.

"We get ready and wait." I nodded reluctantly and waited on my toes. I start up my spell again, this time not putting as much magical energy into it but still quite a bit while Erza makes her swords appear, aiming them in several different directions. I know Erza was starting to reach her limit after about seventy. I pushed more of my magical energy into my spell. The black cloud started to grow bigger, focusing on the other half of the spheres above.

'Hey Fairy Tailers, can you hear me? Looks like we're not doing too good, look into the sky. We're going to have to pull together so get off your butts and lend us a hand.' Who- who is this? I've never heard this voice before... Am I going crazy?! Erza seemed to notice who it was, so that gave me the assurance that I hadn't gone crazy. Erza still only had about a hundred and ten swords or so, her already depleted stamina started to take its toll. I push my magical energy further, trying to use her distraction as a form of taking away more of her burden. 

'If any of you are still fighting just give it a rest for a second. Now listen carefully, those lacrima up there are part of a spell called the Thunder Palace. Laxus is using it to threaten the entire town. So we have to take it out before he can set it off. We don't have much time so we have to work together.'

      I looked at Erza with concern as she was brought to the ground, my energy expanding as she forced herself back up. She looked drained.
