The Will To Protect

 Mara's P.O.V

    Erza stares at me wide eyed, becoming visibly upset as she recoils back. I didn't even have to tell her what would likely happen to me and she already knew what I was planning on doing and the price I was willing to pay.
"No! Not happening! You can't possibly face them all by yourself! If you want to get rid of these things then-... We do it together!" I snapped my gaze to her in surprise but her words invoke a smile from me. I nod into it.
"You know what, that sounds like a dandy idea." We nod to each other.
"We share the burden. Deal? You get some, I get some, that way we can spare some of our magical energy at least. However, we are still gonna need some help. Help from the guild... The whole guild must help."
"How?" I wonder, also curious what she had in mind. I turned my head back to the spheres, waiting for Erza's next move. How could the guild possibly help us.? Erza knows what she's doing so I'll just let her do her thing. That's the thing about Erza, she's so powerful, you never really have to worry about her. She's a great warrior... That much I'm sure of.
"I call upon the power that lies within my swords.. Give us strength, help me protect my dear city." She cites. I cock my head as I turn to her in wonder.

'My comrades in Fairy Tail, please lend Mara and I your strength as well.' My eyes boggled as I gawked at Erza. Was that Erza? Must be a try trick or something. I half joked with myself.
"Now what?" She smiled and nods to herself.
"We get ready and wait." I nodded reluctantly and waited on my toes. I start up my spell again, this time not putting as much magical energy into it but still quite a bit while Erza makes her swords appear, aiming them in several different directions. I know Erza was starting to reach her limit after about seventy. I pushed more of my magical energy into my spell. The black cloud started to grow bigger, focusing on the other half of the spheres above.

'Hey Fairy Tailers, can you hear me? Looks like we're not doing too good, look into the sky. We're going to have to pull together so get off your butts and lend us a hand.' Who- who is this? I've never heard this voice before... Am I going crazy?! Erza seemed to notice who it was, so that gave me the assurance that I hadn't gone crazy. Erza still only had about a hundred and ten swords or so, her already depleted stamina started to take its toll. I push my magical energy further, trying to use her distraction as a form of taking away more of her burden.
'If any of you are still fighting just give it a rest for a second. Now listen carefully, those lacrima up there are part of a spell called the Thunder Palace. Laxus is using it to threaten the entire town. So we have to take it out before he can set it off. We don't have much time so we have to work together.'

      I looked at Erza with concern as she was brought to the ground, my energy expanding as she forced herself back up. She looked drained.

"Wait a minute, how did you find out about the Thunder Palace, Warren?" She asked aloud, the voice somehow hearing her. So the guy talking must be a guy named Warren. Must have Telepathy if he's doing this.
"I'm guessing he's apart of the guild?" I asked semi sarcastically. She nodded her head but cringed slightly. She's pushing herself too much. She can't keep going like this.
'I've never been happier to hear your voice. I was worried about you.' Gray speaks this time. At least he's okay. I was kind of worried about the guy.
'Gray! I see, so you were the one who told him.' Erza exclaims out with relief.
'Yeah. Would have happened sooner but I had to track the guy down.'
'Was that Erza? So that means we don't have to fight anymore?' I couldn't tell who's voice that was although it still sounded a bit familiar.
'Wait, if she's back to normal then that means-' Droy started to say until Jet interrupted.
'What about the other guys? How is Levy?' Man those two really do care about her.
'There's no need to worry boys. All the ladies are fine. ' Cana! She's alright!
'Even Juvias back on her feet.' Even Elfman, good last I heard he was brought down by Evergreen.
'Yeah and so if Bisca. Hear that Alzack?'
'That's good to hear. I was worried. I thought she was a goner.' He sighs.
'There's one problem, my telepathy can't reach all the way to the guild hall so we have to make due with the people that can hear me. If we work together we can do this-'
'Hold it right there, Warren! Why should I do what you say after what you just did to me?'
'Oh! Uh, Max! Hey, I'm sorry about that, I-I swear it wasn't anything personal. I was just desperate to save the girls.' Warren stammered to Max who was still bitter. Must have been forced to fight each other and Max last. Must hold a grudge or something. Oh geez.
'I gotta bone to pick with you, Alzack. Ya hear me?!' I frown at the sudden shift. Now that they realize that they can sit there screaming at each other that's what they're going to do, bet on it. Aaaaaand I was right. This can't keep going on, this is giving me a headache. Arghh shut up...shut up, shut up!
'SHUT UP!' Oops...I hadn't realized I was actually speaking to the others till suddenly the voices ceased. My body freezes as I feel Erza turn to me. I look down, my brow knitted together tightly as my frown deepened with guilt.
'Mara? is that you?' Lucy.
'Uhh.. Yeah it was, I guess. I'm sorry. It's just, I was tired of the fighting, ya know? I mean, they're arguing with each other right now, when instead they should be working together. I don't know what's wrong with them all of the sudden. I know they usually argue but this isn't the time for that right now. Don't they realize the whole town is about to be fried!? We only have a little bit of time left, can't they argue later..? First we have to save the town... but I guess they can't see that. So- So I'll do it. Erza can save her strength and I'll do it. I can get rid of them, all of them if I have too, I don't care!''
'She's right you guys, we have to work together!'
'Right! We gotta save the town, we can work this out later.'
'Yeah, c'mon everyone, we can do this!'
'Alright, guys! You ready to do this?!'
'Hahah, yeah me and Happy can help too! Hear that Mara?'
'Yeah, I'm sorry, guys! Lets save the town!'
'Mara, you're incredible, ya know that?' I perk up at the new voice, ignoring the tinge of red. Natsu. He's been listening this whole time?
'Thanks.' I wanted to make sure Natsu knew I meant him without the others knowing. It's bad enough some people already think we're a thing, that would only increase it. Which I do not need right now.
'I can't even imagine my life without Fairy Tail, I'm too used to it now. I love everything about it and especially the people in it. I'm glad I get to call myself a member of the Fairy Tail guild.' After I'm finished Laxus, you better hope Natsu has taken care of you, cause if not. I sure am.
'I'll take the two hundred to the north! Mara, will take two hundred to the east, you guys take care of the rest.' I looked at Erza one last time before turning to the East and started to control my energy in that direction more. I pushed a bit more energy into it, hoping to absorb as much as I could without fully going past my limit while hoping most of the others, Erza, doesn't notice as the sky darkens more from my magic blacking the sun. Finally that's when everyone started their magic. I spread mine out just a little bit more and launched it. The vertex started to pull on the magical spheres, swallowing them with its dark mass.
