Ignorance Is Bliss

Mara P.O.V

      I sat whilst ignoring those around me and that going around with it. I could feel my heartbeat picking up as I thought more about it. I need to go now... I know he'll be there, I just know it. He's always been there... Am I really going to do this? I haven't seen him in so long... What if he's mad that I left and haven't been back in such a long time? No, he won't. I know he won't. I smiled to myself in blissful ignorance, heading for my place at once. I could hear some of the others question me as I ran out, but was too far gone to acknowledge. I made it to my place and walked in, not caring if I had closed the door all the way or not. I beamed mindlessly as I dashed for my room, grabbing a bag. I set the bag down on my bed while turning to the closet, throwing some random things into it. I further ignored yelling coming from the front door, too in my room to care who it was in the moment. I close up the bag and turned swiftly about to walk into the other room but was stopped short. Nastu, Happy and Lucy all lined up looking at me weirdly. I blinked and walked past them and to the kitchen to pack some food.

"Hey, uh. Mara, what are you doing?" Lucy asks dubiously. I turned back to her and the others.

"Nothing." I dodge as they raise a brow at me.L

"Well, then if it's nothing you wanna go do a job with us? It's for first thing in the morning so we have to leave tonight." Natsu smiled widely. I frowned at his excitement before shaking my head. Causing him to frown now too.

"Sorry, guys, but I can't. I have to go somewhere." I say, turning around and grabbing a few things from the other cupboard. I finished packing some stuff into the bag before tieing it up completely this time. I looked up, seeing them now starting to look worried.

"Mara, seriously, where are you going?" I smiled brightly.

"I'm leaving!" They gawked, falling back at the news. I stood waiting for them to recover. Once they did, Natsu slammed his fist on the counter.

"What do you mean, leaving?!" He yelled. I raised a brow almost sarcastically at him.

"Wow... You are a fire brain." I mocked, causing him to get mad and the others almost laughed.

"Well, where are you leaving too?" Lucy asks gently.

"I'm going to see an old friend of mine." I avoid they eyes, closing up the kitchen and putting things away.

"I thought you were alone before joining Fairy Tail?" I tried not to let my smile falter.

"I was, but I'm sure he's back by now. He's been away for a really long time but.. Well, he has to be back by now." I try not to sound too upset as their stares burn into me, making me self conscious of my thoughts and choices. What if he's really not there? What if he got mad that I never returned and decided to leave for good? No, that was his home long before I got there. There's no way. I'm sure he's there, he just has to be. 

"Mara!" I flinched and looked up to face them. I swallowed the tautness in my throat and forced a smile back.

"But I know he's there. He just has to be." Lcuy looks confused, but Natsu looks at me knowingly.

"Mara... Are you talking about Kuragari?" Natsu questions with sadness deep in his eyes. I pause, my eyes drifting to ignore the awaited thoughts and nod vaguely, trying to assure myself he'd be there.

"Yep! And I'm going to go see him!" I walked past them ignoring their responses and back into my room. I opened my closet I had left ajar and grabbed my cloak to slip on, clipping the hood into place before going back out into the kitchen where they were standing.
