As the laughter filled the room again and the mood lightened, Amara felt a gentle tug on her arm. Hakeem leaned in close, his expression serious despite the relaxed atmosphere.

"Hey, babe, can we talk for a sec?" he murmured, glancing towards the back door.

Amara nodded, a hint of concern crossing her face. She picked Namiko up and handed her to Elijah, who was more than happy to keep her entertained. "Be right back, sweetie," she said, giving Namiko a reassuring smile.

They stepped outside, the summer air warm and comforting. Hakeem took a deep breath before turning to face Amara, his eyes earnest.

"So, about what just happened with Jabari and his crew," he started, rubbing the back of his neck. "I didn't want you to worry, but I feel like you should know."

Amara nodded, urging him to continue.

"Jabari rolled up with his boys, trying to start something," Hakeem explained. "He was all about unfinished business, but really, he was just looking to flex. I shut him down, told him to bounce. No fight or anything, just some tension."

Amara's brow furrowed. "Is he going to be a problem?"

Hakeem shrugged. "Honestly, I don't think so. He's just trying to act tough, but with everyone backing me up, he didn't have the guts to push it further."

She sighed, reaching out to touch his arm. "I'm glad you told me. I don't want you dealing with stuff like this alone."

He smiled, pulling her into a hug. "I know. I just didn't want you to stress. But we're good. I've got my brothers and my boys, and I've got you. We're solid."

Amara rested her head against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. "I trust you. Just be careful, okay? For us."

"Always," he promised, kissing the top of her head. "Now, let's get back inside and enjoy the rest of the day. No one's messing with our peace."

As they walked back inside, hand in hand, Amara felt a renewed sense of security. She knew that no matter what challenges came their way, they would face them together, with strength and love.
