Question: How do you call yourself?
Question (Kess tiong): Comment vous appelez vous? (komoh voo sapoley voo?)
Side Note - Comment is an adverb and literally translates to "How". Vous means "you" in formal setting. Appelez means "call" in formal setting. You can also use Comment t'appelles-tu (Commo Tapel tu) but is informal, usually used for people younger than you, friends, parents etc...
Reply: I call myself...
Repondre (Ree pon dre): Je M'appelle (Zhu Mapel)
Side Note - Je means "I". Appele means "call" in informal setting. M' could be "Me" or "myself". Literally translates to "I call myself".
Formal Way of Asking
Q: What is your name
Q: Quel est votre nom (Kel leh vot tre nom)
SN - Quel literally translates to "what". Est literally translates to "is". votre translates to "your". and nom translates to "name".
R: My name is...
R: Mon nom est (Mon Nom meh)
SN - More formal but not commonly used in daily speech.
Other Way of Asking
Q: Who are you?
Q: Qui etes vous? (kee et voo?)
R: I am...
R: Je suis... (Zhu Swee)
Example: Je suis Charlie ( I am Charlie)
