After that interaction with Anna I went to the parking lot where I had told Alice to wait for me from. I think I was already late given all that had unveiled that day. I walked hurriedly to go see if she was still there and fortunately she was already there but pacing. so I did the most creepy thing, I tiptoed until I was standing behind her and tapped her back scaring her, to which she jumped to and I laughed hard which earned me a light slap on my shoulder. "Don't do that to me again, you almost killed me." She huffed, and I shook my head at her dramatic gesture while smiling a little bit, I didn't know she could be that adorable if she chose to _what was I even thinking? I think I was losing my mind to even describe Alice as adorable, Alice hated me so did I_
"I've been waiting for you for eternity, I've heard that you've been playing the hero protecting the boss lady from the rapist." I just laughed at how concerned she looked. "Don't laugh Val, you could get yourself hurt." she said and then spotted my injured knuckles, held them while inspecting my wounds with worry covering her beautiful facial features. "See, let's first have these wounds plastered and then we shall have that talk." She held my hands and led me to her car, she fished out her first aid box kit and started working on my wounds. I looked at her admiringly _I wondered when she became that caring_
"So that talk?" Alice turned her back at me upon hearing me say that and released the breath she was holding.
"Yes, I'm in love with you, I've always been but never had you noticed me and I couldn't do anything about it because you know our society, and you, you were so blind to even notice me because you're mind has always been on Skylar, she has always been your secret crush leaving me no choice about my forbidden feelings.I only had one option left, to teach myself how to hate you and to bully you which I'm sorry for." she laughed lightly and blinked back some tears that were threatening to fall. "And you know the funny part?" She then faced me while leaving the tears she was holding back to fall freely. "I've never stopped loving you Valerie, I still do since kindergarten till this very moment, I've tried all kinds of relationships but nothing is working out, I end up comparing every partner I get to you."
I was moved by what she had said but I couldn't promise her love, so I pulled her into my embrace and held her for some minutes while letting her let out all her emotions.
"So what changed? You know Sky is coming back, it's not like she has gone forever." I asked her after breaking the embrace. She sat down and motioned me to follow suit which I did willingly. "I always thought that you had a chance with her, but seeing that she's married makes me confident that I can win you over. Regardless of our society, Iam not afraid to lose it all, I can go through hell with you. We can make it work, we can keep it a secret for the rest of our lives. No one needs to know. I love you Valerie." She smiled dreamily.
It hurt every single minute realization hit me that I had no chance with Skylar, knowing that I could never make her mine for eternity, and just a reminder that she was never going to be mine because I was a girl who had to get married to a man because that's what society wanted, that's what religion wanted, raised me from my spot and I mindlessly walked towards the company doors without saying a word to Alice.
"I'm sorry Valerie if I overstepped." She yelled but I continued my journey, the next thing I remember was someone hugging me from the back. I stopped in my tracks and turned to looked at a teary eyed Alice. "I know that's not the only reason why you wanted talk to me, don't go before hearing the whole of it." She begged and I immediately gave in, that wasn't like me, I hated Alice. I went back to my previous spot and she followed suit.
"So, tell me about the rumours and name reveal." She chuckled through her tears which I volunteered wiping away, and held both my hands while facing me. "I told my workmates that, because I knew Jason was listening in to the conversation which assured me that he'll tell you and you'll come looking for me which you did, but trust me I can't tell anyone because I know the consequences." She reassured me which I blindly just believed.
"So, are we done here?" I raised my eyebrows at Alice which she responded to with a peck on my lips. I looked around to see if no one had seen that but I think the coast was clear. I left Alice and started my journey to Anna's office and all my prayers were to find her in a good mood.
I found Anna sleeping at the table and it's no lie that she didn't look adorable because_she did._ I walked closely to her and looked at her, admiring her beautiful face, I brought my hand to remove the strand of hair that was falling onto her face, unfortunately she woke up and I guess she thought I was being creepy, I stepped back so that I wouldn't startle her. "You've taken long, I've been so bored and tired." She said while stretching herself into a standing position. "Lead the way, it's getting late, let me hope you've not been making out with Alice while I'm here waiting for you." I just shook my head no. "Good, because if you did I would fire her with no hesitation." She warned me but I was too exhausted to argue with her so I just nodded my head yes while walking towards my bike.
"Don't tell me you're going to ride that!" I just paid her no attention, got my helmet and put it on. "You know I can't leave my bike here! give me the address to your house." She shook her head in disbelief and gave me the address, which I crammed into my head. "Alright, race you there." I started my engine and headed to Anna's residence, Anna rode behind me in her posh car and every time she tried to overtake me, I increased the speed and showed her my middle finger in the process. After the racing, I arrived at Anna's apartment _it was glamorous__ I looked at it in awe and finally the boss lady arrived and led me into her luxurious house.
Once inside, I made myself comfortable on the couch. Anna went into what I assumed to be the kitchen and then came back with a glass of water which she handed me. "Let me be back in a while." She said while opening another door.
She came back after some time looking refreshed, she was wrapped in a syphon see through night wear which revealed her red lacy underwear with a matching bra. I think my eyes travelled her body long enough that someone sitting on my lap snapped me out of my trance. "Are you going to freshen up too while I'm preparing dinner or you're just going to shamelessly check me out ?" She huskily spoke into my ear while licking it a little bit causing my breath to hitch into my throat and goosebumps to form onto my skin. She laughed at my reaction while leaving my lap heading to the kitchen swaying her hips right to left _she was such a tease_
After freshening up, I rummaged through Anna's closet to find something comfy for the night and I landed on some oversized pj's, I put on the shorts of the pj's and my sports bra. After some time, of making myself presentable, I joined Anna in the kitchen.
She was making something that Smelt super delicious, so I walked behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. "That Smells delicious." I complimented her and she responded by turning and pecking my lips. "Okay then, go and wait for me in the dining area, I can't do anything if you're this close to me." She pecked my lips one more time and signaled for me to leave her which I did willingly.
After a few minutes, Anna served me dinner. Delicious would be an understatement but it was the best food I had ever tasted, I thought rich people didn't know how to cook until Anna l proved me wrong, you might have thought that she was a professional chef and that's why I raised my curiosity. "Who taught you how to cook Ms. Williams?" I asked.
"I offered a catering short course after my college years." She responded while smiling from ear to ear like a kid who had seen their favorite toy. "You're really good at this." I praised and she responded with a hum, we continued eating our food in silence and afterwards she stood to collect the utensils which I beat her up to. "I've got this, you've made dinner at least let me wash the dishes." She hesitantly agreed but still followed me to the kitchen.
I washed the dishes while she was hugging me from behind. "Let's go to bed, Incase you have one." I turned around so that we could leave but instead Anna just kissed me with all the passion she had. I first froze for a while but eventually kissed her back with the same intensity. I carried her to what I assumed to be her bedroom and dropped her on the bed gently without breaking the kiss, I kissed the crook of her neck and she started breathing heavily, then my mind went back to Sky _i really was missing her._ With that I broke the kiss and lay beside her. "I'm sorry Anna, I can't." I said while facing the other side, she held my face by the jaw and turned me to face her. "It's okay my knight, whenever you're ready I'll be right here." She kissed me one more time and wished me a goodnight.
It was going to be a long night.
