"Out of respect for the others, please turn off all pagers and cell phones."
—(I have yet to edit the rest of the story from this chapter. It's still okay to read, it's just still the first draft from here.)
Gerry tries calling Thierry from the phone he gave him, to inform him where you're heading next.
Thierry hears the phone ring and picks it up, answering.
"Gerry?" He answers but only hearing static.
"Thierry, can you hear me?" Gerry only hears static on his side too.
"Gerry, you there?"
"Thierry?"
"Damn it." Gerry sighs as the call disconnects.
...
"Give me your hand." Speke says coming up beside you.
You hold your hand up and he puts a ring on your palm.
"No way. No." You shake your head.
"My mother. Dallas. Probably pacing a hole in the floor right now if she's still there. Better chance you seeing her before me, that's all." He tells you.
"It's a big plane. We got lot of room." You tell him, then look to Gerry who was standing close by with the bike. "Right? Tell him."
He looks at Speke and nods in confirmation at the offer for them to come with you.
"Better the devil you know, than the one you don't." Ellis says coming up handing Speke night goggles.
"You'll be alright." Speke tells you and turn to Gerry. "Just pedal your ass off."
He then speaks to everyone around.
"Make sure Maverick here keeps the nose of that plane pointed at the sun." He says pointing at your pilot.
"Just remember, don't lock the bowser's fuel line to the inlet." The pilot says.
"Tell me 10 more times." Speke says, the turning to his guys. "You good? Alright. Don't rush. We got one chance to fuel their plane, so let's do it right. If you ain't a crack shit, don't aim for the head, just get Zeke on the ground. Remember, 'Spine's divine, those knees they work just fine!' Let's go. Lights out!"
They turn off the light and the soldiers put on their night goggles. You hold on to Gerry like he told you, clutching his jacket to stay close.
Once outside he gets on the bike and waits for you to sit on the back of it. When you do, he rides it following the two others on their bikes.
"Alpha in position." You hear through the radio on one of the soldiers beside you.
Looking around you see soldiers getting into positions on the roof.
"Bravo moving out."
"Remember, these things are drawn to sound. So I need you close to target before you bring out the truck." Speke speaks into the radio. "Now, there's only one way we're getting you on that plane, and that's quietly."
