Trent POV

I put down my phone, letting out a sigh. "Who was that just now?" Virgil spoke up, making me jump a little. "Where'd you come from?" I looked behind me.

He was folding his shirt. "I walked in about two minutes ago. It seems you were a little distracted, eh?" He smirked.

"It's not what you think-.." I shook my head. I couldn't help myself from grinning. "I have eyes... and ears. You can't fool me. So, who was on the phone?" He raised a brow, tossing the shirt over his duffle bag.

"It was a girl..." I put my phone into my pocket. "And are you and this girl.....involved?" He emphasized 'involved.' "No, it's not like that. She has a boyfriend."

For some reason, it felt weird saying that. "That doesn't mean anything. You could still have feelings for someone you can't have, no?" Virgil walked over to me.

"Are you trying to say I-" My jaw dropped. "Tell me, does this girl like her boyfriend?" He looked down at me. It felt like I was being interrogated by my father. "Yes? I mean, I think she does..." I shrugged.

"Interesting." He smirked at me. "Don't do that-" I put my hand up, shaking my head. "I wasn't do anything, just.. smiling." He picked up his bag.

Before leaving he put a hand on my shoulder. "It's never too late to get all those feelings off your chest." He patted my back and left the locker room.

What does he mean by that...? I can't seriously call her up and tell her that I might like her more than a friend. It would ruin our friendship and maybe even my friendship with Jude. I can't do that.

I slammed the locker shut and grabbed my things. But, if I do confess.. I don't have to pretend anymore. God...just stop thinking Trent.

Ellie POV

I stood in front of my mother's house, just staring at the kitchen window. This place brought back too many horrible memories that I had tried to hard to bury away, but now everything is resurfacing.

"Are you ready?" Jude raised a brow, examining my expression. "No." I walked to the front door and knocked on it three times. Jude placed a hand on my shoulder, reassuring me.

The door quickly flung open to my very disheveled looking mother. "You're 20 minutes late. I thought I raised you better than this." She didn't even bother to even thank me for flying across the world to see her.

"You didn't raise me at all." I mumbled, gripping the gift I had in my hand tightly. "And who the hell is this? You didn't tell me you were bringing random men into my home. Some things never change." She propped her hand up on her hip, looking Jude up and down.

"It's nice to meet you Mrs. White, I'm Jude Bellingham." He extended a hand out for her to shake. "Excuse me?" Her eyes widened. "Jude Bellingham as in the football player?" She paused. "Yes, that's me." He nodded.

My mom gave me a glare before smiling at Jude. "Oh my goodness, are you two friends?" She opens the door wider to invite us in. "We're dating." He walks inside, making sure I was right behind him.

My mom paused again. Jude and I gave each other a smirk, knowing that everything was going according to plan. "Where's Jason?" I look around the dining area. "He's in his room." My mom's tone changed completely.

"I'll go get him, you just make yourselves comfortable." She smiled, disappearing into the hallway. "This is working better than I thought." I sat down in one of the chairs. Jude seemed to be too distracted by the lack of food on the table.

"Don't worry. We won't be here long, we'll eat someplace else." I pulled out my phone to message Maya how it was going. "What. the. FUCK." A loud voice yelled, making me shoot my eyes up.

It was Jason. He was staring at Jude with his jaw dropped. "So I don't see you for several years and you come back with a famous football player? How much did she pay you?" He rolls his eyes at me. Mom slapped him upside the head. "How dare you speak like that." She scowls.

I stand up in my seat, making my way toward them. "Why are you hitting him when you do the exact same shit?" I'd furrow my brows. "You better refrain from speaking to your mother like that." She looked like she was fuming.

"I'm an adult, I'll talk however I damn please." I scoffed. She gasped and slapped me across the face. I rubbed my stinging cheek. Jude walked over, creating space between my mother and I. "We should go." Jude grabbed my wrist.

"He's going to ruin your life, Eleanor. I know how these kinds of men operate." She yelled as we walked out the front door. "Yeah, we all know you slept with a bunch of men and think you have them all figured out." I stuck my middle finger up.

I turned on the car, driving off quickly. "That was... intense." He said awkwardly. "Sorry. That's usually how it always is." I'd put in the directions to a random restaurant. "How about we eat at my parent's house instead?" He pulled out his phone and went to google maps.

"Would they be okay with that? I'd hate to feel like I'm invading-" I shook my head. "No. you wouldn't be. They would love to have you." He plugged his phone into the charger and it pulled up the directions.
