A/n- pitch looking lovely today lads

It was about a few minutes you and z dog sat in silence , not really talking but it was until he looked at you and fidgeted with his strings on his pants and he looked you over before speaking.
"How much is your bail...?"
He asked quietly.
"About 3,000 dollars."
You sighed and he kept quiet for a moment.
"We got a few months left yknow before we're out together?..."
He added and you shook your head.
"No , your sentence was longer then mine , I'm supposed to get out in 4 months , yours is in 6."
You looked at him and you kept quiet.
"Right..."
He sighed.
"Hooch is supposed to get out soon. Millets got another year y'know...."
He explained.
"Shit happens."
You shrugged as you kicked off your shoes.

You were about to speak up again until one of the officers opened up the food slot to your door and looked at you.
"L/n , speaking up bail your up for it. You got an hour to pack you got someone wanting"
The officer announced and z dogs heart sank to his stomach as he heard those words.
"Wait is this a joke?"
He asked and you nodded as you looked at the officer through the glass.
"No. Now get to pracking already. You'll be cuffed and bright to the front to grab your belongings you came in with."
The officer stated an you kept quiet as they left and you looked towards z dog as you let the information settle.
"This has to be a fucking sick coincidence..."
You shook your head.
"So your gonna be out fully now...."
He let the information settle as well as a feeling of hurt filled his stomach.

It was a feeling he was used to but one he'd never forget , the feeling of being alone and losing the only thing he had in this world left. You were like family to him , if not you were something more. You were eachothers back bone , your ride or die y'know?.
"Yeah uh...."
You started but couldn't really tell how you felt. It was mixed emotions.
"You got family out there?..."
He looked at you confused and hurt slightly but he tried to rep up.
"Nah , not that I know of."
You answered back as you sat up and  grabbed the small bin from under your bunk and set it on your bed.
"Whatever you need , take...I clearly won't need half this shit.."
You sighed as you opened up the bin , giving him your set of tank tops , whatever hygiene products were in there and such. The minutes were going by and you didn't know what to do.

"I'm pretty sure I have a small phone on me...I could give you my number so we can keep in touch..I can send you commissary if needed.."
You offered and he gave a small sad yet content smile at you as he watched you grab a pride of paper from the small notebook you had with you and you scribbled on your old number hoping it was the same one. Sometimes you tend to forget.
"There gonna grab me in a few minutes yknow.."
You added and he nodded.
"I know.."
He replied back.
"Your my girl Smokey, you know that"
he said affectionately.
"You really leaving us already"
He looked at you as his eyes were assessing you.
"Yo I'm gonna miss having you around to kick some ass."
He looked at you as if he was trying to remember your face.

As he spoke you felt that deep part inside your body coil up. That feeling of abandonment welling up inside you as he spoke those words. You wouldn't admit it openly but you were going to miss him but one thing that crossed your mind was you didn't know who stood waiting for you as they had gotten you out on bail. For all you know you didn't have any family waiting outside for you so this only made you feel a bit anxious an nervous as you didn't know who waited beyond fell block.
"How much is your bail?..."
You went close to him as you closed the space between eachother.
Z dog chuckled, leaning against the wall and exhaling some smoke from the small window you both had.
"Damn, you're really gonna pull some strings for me, huh?"
He took a ounce over , clearly touched by your clear made offer.
"I'm on a 2 grand bail. But you don't have to do that Smokey ."
He looked you over with a small smile on his face.

You sighed.
"Listen man.."
Your voice went soft which was a rarity.
"we've been in an out together, I can't just leave you."
You stated and he shook his head as his own expression softened at your sincerity. He knew how rare it was for you to drop your tough exterior, and this moment meant something special. He shook his head, a small smile on his face.
"You don't owe me anything. You've done enough. I'm gonna miss you, though."
He expressed.
"You take care of yourself out there. And don't let anybody fuck with you"
He wrapped his arms around you tightly , you stood tense for a moment before leaning in and holding tightly as well.
"Please fucking Behave...I can't have you getting a damn transfer an not see you again..."
You held on tightly , the scent of the cheap shampoo and baby powder you were all given to freshen up with. That familiar smell of him linger as you were both close to each other.

. "Me, behave? Now, where's the fun in that?"
He leaned in closer , his head in the crook of your neck, his voice becoming serious.
"On the real, though, I'll try. I'll behave as much as someone like me can."
He leaned forward, a sly smile playing on his lips as he pulled away to meet your gaze .
"But you know that's not gonna be easy. I'm a free spirit, baby."
He smirked at you.
"More like a fucking pigeon in a cage."
You huffed and he rolled his eyes playfully.
He let off a small laugh , putting a hand to his chest as he was feigning offense.
"Hey now, that's just uncalled for"
he protested, still smiling.
"I'm a free bird baby. I ain't meant to stay in one spot for long."
He leaned closer, a smirk on his face.
"But seriously, I'll try to stay out of trouble. For you."
He looked you over with gentle eyes. As his eyes scraped over you , pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead , it was a surreal feeling as you leaned in , feeling that one feeling you longed for before pulling away quickly as he saw the officer's start to unlock the door, some of them pooling in as they surrounded you.

"Hands behind your back."
They said calmly to which you obeyed as you turned for them , feeling to cool metal of the cuffs hit your skin as they tightened them. You took on last look at z dog as they were getting ready to pull you out and get you changed into the clothes you had on previously when you first got in a few months ago. Z dog met your gaze, a mix of emotions on his face. The reality that you were leaving was starting to sink in.
"Smokey "
he began, his voice quieter than before.
"You take care, alright? Don't go forgetting me in all the outside chaos."
He looked at you and you gave a small smile.
"Never in a million years."
You spoke as you were led out by the officers , walking down the cell block passing other cells , including millers and hooches.

As you walked and looked at the cell mates you spotted that one girls cell before glaring at the other inmates.
"You fuck with z dog and I'll fucking get my ass locked up again and beat every single one of you here. This is my fucking cell block till I drop dead."
You shouted at them getting them riled up , The officers glaring at you as you spoke.
"Cut the shit l/n , your out. Don't ruin the chance."
They glared. The inmates in the cell block, who had been watching the exchange, tensed up at your words but They knew you were not someone to be messed with, and your threat held weight.A few of them exchanged a few grins as they saw you walk past , as much as you could be violent , you could be subtly caring , helping out others when needed.
"That's my girl."
Z dog murmured under his breath as he watched you walk out for the last time.
"Imma miss your ass Z. See you on the other side."
You yelled as you looked up at him as you passed into the cafeteria for the last time.
As you passed you threw up a sign with your hands which only the people of your cell block new an they started to bark , and root for you as you left. The meaning going father then home.

The meaning of freedom and peace.
