Myeong kept watch.

Seok Chan handed over the flamethrower once they were able to convince Yeong Hu that he needed a blood transfer. Seok Chan knew he was dying from his wounds from the monster attack, he wanted to save his friend and colleague. Yeong Hu tried to fight it until he ultimately agreed to the agreement. Myeong was told to keep watch and make sure that the monsters didn't return. He only had to kill two monsters that seemed to break free from their confined space.

Jin Hee was fast asleep, using Seok Chan's jacket as a blanket. She was curled under by a rock. Myeong sat on said rock, making sure no one interrupted the transfusion or tried to kill one of them. He did a couple hours of sleep in the meantime.

Myeong yawned, stretching his arms over his head. The flamethrower leaned against the rock, sitting idle for a while now. Myeong looked down to Jin Hee, seeing how peaceful she looked, probably for the first time since she was turned into a monster. Myeong then looked over at Seok Chan and Yeong Hu. Myeong moved quickly away from the rock when he saw Seok Chan slumped over.

He placed two fingers against his pulse by his neck. "Fuck." He whispered. Seok Chan knew he was dying, he was giving Yeong Hu his blood to survive. He wanted Yeong Hu to survive over himself. Myeong closed his eyes – both Yeong Hu and Jin Hee were going to be upset when they woke up.

Myeong moved away from Seok Chan, carefully moving around Yeong Hu. He didn't even need to catch his pulse, he could Yeong Hu's chest rise and fall. Myeong didn't know when Seok Chan passed, there was still blood in the tubing, and it looked congealed. Myeong wondered if he had looked over before and just thought Seok Chan was asleep. Myeong might have been sleep deprivated to realize he was looking at a dead body.

As Myeong stood up, Yeong Hu started to wake, body shaking. "Sergeant Kim," Myeong spoke softly, trying not to disturb Jin Hee. He glanced over at the little girl before looking back at Yeong Hu. Yeong Hu turned his head slowly towards Seok Chan. Myeong closed his eyes again, hearing Yeong Hu trying to get Seok Chan's attention. "I'm so sorry, he passed away." Myeong kept his voice soft.

It was no help.

Myeong wasn't expecting Sergeant Kim to shout like that. It woke Jin Hee instantly. She didn't know what was going on until she looked over at Mr. Kang. "M-Mr. Kang?" Myeong ran to Jin Hee instantly as the tears filled her eyes. "It's all my fault, it's all my fault." Jin Hee said. Myeong shook his head, trying to calmly tell Jin Hee that it wasn't her fault. They would have captured the soldiers regardless of Jin Hee's involvement. "I'm so sorry, Sergeant Kim! I didn't want to do it!"

"Jin Hee, it's okay." Myeong hugged a sobbing Jin Hee.
