You arrived in Jackson when you were just a little girl after your parents dropped you off as they simply could not take care of you because of their circumstances. You and Ellie quickly became best friends for years, spending your teen years with both each other and your friends, Dina and Jesse. Maria and Tommy were the two people who had taken you in and loved you like their own from the moment you first walked through the gates of Jackson. When you and Ellie uncovered your feelings for one another, things began to change. While out on patrol with your girlfriend, Jesse finds you and tells you that both Tommy and Joel, Ellie's father figure, haven't returned home yet. When you find them, it's too late. Joel, Tommy's older brother, is so beat up there is no use even checking for a pulse. His death caused Ellie to shut down completely, only sharing a thing or two with Dina, making you envious of their friendship. You and Dina both follow the auburn-haired girl as she attempts to gain revenge. In the process of this, you see Owen, the guy who had shot you and threatened your biological parents just years earlier. Ellie manages to kill him and crosses paths with Tommy and Jesse in the process of this, but still only talks to Dina about her problems, who you discover is pregnant with Jesse's child. The two had just broken up, and the young woman was in distress. When you demand that you go home, your girlfriend practically gives you the silent treatment. Silence grows into crying and shouting, and so the seemingly endless cycle of pain begins. It's not until Ellie begins to process her grief when she finally starts to make things right with you. At last you allowed her to step back into her life, ignoring the amount of pain she had previously put you in.
