"𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐞

𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬"

The first thing you did when the sunlight hit your face was let out a big, loud yawn whilst stretching our your limbs . As your eyes finally began to open properly, your gaze quickly fell on the auburn-haired woman who was currently standing in your kitchen. "You're up." She said, a half-smile on her face. You weren't sure what to think about any of it.

Being around Ellie made you oddfully watchful of all your surroundings, it always felt as if there was a catch. "Yeah." You awkwardly mutter, suddenly very self conscious about the state you were in. You stretched your arms and legs once more before finally getting out of bed, unsure as to whether you should say something to her, or just let her be.

"You got home late." You commented after a long moment of awkward silence. The closet you were now standing in front of felt boring, like most days. Without thinking about it, you grabbed one of the items on the bottom of your shelf, something you hadn't worn in ages. "I did, yeah." Though you couldn't see her face as she said that, the tone in which the words came out of her mouth told you she was ashamed of something.

The two of you had gotten to that point of understanding a long time ago, yet it still felt weird to know and be known by someone so well. Sometimes it had felt as if the two of you shared a mind, but as you put on the old hoodie, you felt more removed from Ellie than ever. You didn't see the use in asking her about where she was. If she wanted to tell you, she would.

The empty and numb feeling hadn't left just yet, and you feared it was going to linger for quite a while. "I went for a walk through town." The auburn-haired woman spoke up again as you were making your way over to the bathroom, merely seconds before you closed the door. "Okay."

You shut the door behind you, closing your eyes for a moment as you sought for a sense of stability in the sink, grasping onto it. When you opened them again, black spots covered half of your vision. You leaned down to the sink, turning on the faucet to drink a few sips of water. You weren't usually this lightheaded in the morning, it only ever really happened when you got drunk, which was very rare.

You could hear your girlfriend cooking up something in the kitchen, which felt out of place, since she usually just went with whatever was left in the fridge. You had never minded, because you had never been much of a chef either. After a few minutes of getting ready, you finally found yourself stepping out of the small bathroom again, somewhat ready to face the person on the other side of the door again.
